UMC 2.1.1 sync

Hi,
I just created a database and frontend using UMC 2.1.1. After scanning and creating the skins, the UMC folder is created under my application directory and it includes the startflash.phf.
Now how do I sync this to my pch?
In previous versions, the sync option was presented when exiting the program. In 2.1.1 I cannot find how to start a sync.
Hope someone can help.

Hi maureen,

The synchronisation feature was killed in 2.1.1, because it gave more problems than it resolved. It will make its reappearance In the next major release of UMC, in a much better/enhanced form (offline caching, sync of multiple devices, autodiscovery, ...). In the meantime, you can generate the jukebox directly on the PCH internal drive (share) such that no manual copying is necessary.

oh nice I thought it was on hold again, the project got new wind with UMC 2.1.0 but quickly wen cold again. Not much of the issues that came up we're resolved.

What specific issues are you referring to?

Everything frontend related is put on hold because that is being majorly restructured & rewritten (and there is little point in investing time in something that is getting completely overthrown). The backend -- despite that being of little interest to users, we understand the action and fun is with the frontend -- is very actively worked on to allow better frontend integration (for example, the synchronization that was talked about).

A lot of the backend plumbing has been worked out already by DonGyros (even though there is still a lot of work) and in the meantime, we've started working on new frontends as well... Unfortunately it is a bit early to communicate already about this in detail, but expect more news in a couple of weeks (a release is still months away by the way, don't get your hopes up yet -- unless we suddenly get a dozen new developers on board of course).

I found it. The output path for the frontend creation is configurable under the skin plugin.
