UMC FanartGrabber plugin problem
For the movies that fanart was not picked up on first library scan, I would like to manually add fanarts and backdrops. But when right clicking, choosing fanartgrabber from plugin list, I cant download anything. It will find fanart and backdrops and when i select them and click ok, it asks me if i want to download and assign them, but when clicking ok I got "ERROR Image canot be downloaded". Please advise

RE: UMC FanartGrabber plugin problem
I'll have to check in more detail what is going on with the fanartgrabber, but I can already tell you another workarounds:
  • You can use the DISK fanart plugin to pick up a cover/backdrop/... image which is named just like the movie, for example "mymovie.mkv" which has a cover image "mymovie[Cover].jpg". This requires that you manually search the image (on Google/Yahoo) and download it yourself to your movie folder. The actual name of the cover image can be customized using the DISK fanart plugin (but let's not complicate things ... yet).
  • Another location you can put this image is the UMC installation directory, under resources/Cover/Movies. This directory is also scanned by default for cover images.
For the fanart grabber plugin, I'll do some tests to see if any of the search algorithms included have changed. I advice to use the manual workaround for now, since at the moment it is not likely that a quick fix for this will become available.

Crisp

RE: UMC FanartGrabber plugin problem
Thanks for explaining. Any good (& simple) scrapper for fanarts and backdrops? I used to had YANFOE but dunno if this software is still alive.

So if I understood correctly, manually add images to media files and then just re-scan library? Do I need to remove movies from library before re-scaning, or UMC automatically detects images added to movies that are already in library?

RE: UMC FanartGrabber plugin problem
UMC should detect the new images without deleting the movies from the database. Just be sure that the movies are UNLOCKED before you do a rescan, to ensure that they are fully processed again.
