I see. But no, the swf files you find there are just used as images (some with extra effects). Playback of videos is only possible with the native pch player or the SDK player.
I once tried to add only a small audio stream to a swf image but the result were such negative effects that I gave it up very fast.

he just wants trailers from a youtube url.. ev does that, he just needs to add them to the nfo for the movie and it'll appear as an extra

Struggling a bit ever since I upgraded eversion from R0138 to R0143 and evZap from 1.0 to 1.1.

Making settings customized is a lot more hit & miss. I've managed to set my tv index back to wallfull, but the cursor around the posters on the index screen won't work, no matter what it's set on. I also prefer the "home_300" home menu, but it gives me the "home_v8" menu when i use this setting. the weather stuff is also not working quite as it should.

I had some strange stuff too,... but I looked in the evZap folder and there were 2 settings.xml files, ... I think one was settings-default, or the people mod, ... .etc ... anyway, I combined them into one file, and everything is working. Just make sure that you're editing the correct file,..

yeah, i get that. why you can't just let us making a settings.xml in the eskins\evZap\ folder like all the normal eksins work i don't get. when i copy the the settings.xml to the jukebox\evZap\ folder and leaving the settings-default file completely, which i also tried, that didn't work at all. It ignored the custom settings file completely. at the end of the day, i've made all the changes in settings-default in eskins\evZap\, and it still won't work properly.

the thing is, evZap 1.0 worked perfectly

No, that's not how it's done in general. Putting settings.xml in the eskin/evZap folder instead of settings-default.xml in evZap1.0 was my mistake.
All skins use "default" setting files which are then overridden by those whithout "default" in the filename if you want to make any changes.

You can of course put your settings.xml to the eskins/evZap/ folder. But you'd have to start a new YAMJ scan for every changed setting; that would eliminate one of eversions biggest advantages.
And it will not show a different result (YAMJ will only copy it to /Jukebox/evZap/).
So, I recommend to not make any setting(-default).xml changes in the eskins folder.

Are you using the default evZap or did you already add a mod (eg. people mod)?

Since I never had problems with the settings, could you please post the content of your settings.xml so that I can have a look at it?

okay, sorry guys, looks like i fixed it.

my jukebox was compiled to a folder juke\everjuke\ on the nmt's internal hdd. made it the standard \jukebox\ and now its working. thanks chaps.

and thanks saf, yours is still the coolest eskin. now i just need to upgrade to an A300 so it can handle it properly

Hi,

did you put esettings.xml in the correct folder, i.e. /Jukebox/eversion/settings/ (NOT in /skins/eversion/interface/eversion/settings/)?
Also note that the entries are case-sensitive.
Try to copy/paste your working modified esettings-default.xml and rename the copy to esettings.xml in /Jukebox/eversion/settings/. But remove the version number at the bottom!
I recommend using a esettings.xml since esettings-default.xml will be overwritten on every YAMJ scan.

case-sensitive is also correct as i copied and pasted the settings from page 1.
Whats the point of copying the esettings-default.xml to esettings.xml and remove the version number, when the esettings.xml is ignored?

esettings.xml is not ignored. It reads default first then overrides with esettings.xml that you change. The reason you make it is so it doesnt get overwritten every time you run yamj as default-esetting is overwritten with the orginal.
