Downloading NMT ....0% failed to download NMT!
Hi,
I'm trying to install NMT apps, but running into some issues. First I've tried to use an internal 500GB 3,5" which I've used in my A-110. If I go to SETUP - MAINTENANCE - NMT SETUP WIZARD it only shows FRESH SETUP. it takes a while for it to format before it goes to step 2. Downloading the NMT. I've specifically selected LOCAL which would mean it would look for a USB device with the NMT apps right? Well, it takes a while before I get the error that it cannot find the NMT software. When I do this procedure again it asks me AGAIN if I wanna format my hard drive. Even though I just did a minute ago! I've also tried to use an external 2,5" disk where I wanna install NMT and the second drive with the actual NMT apps. Same thing, it does no recognize the files and reboots after the error! Is there somebody that can help me, because it's non working for me! Oh btw, I only have Mac's and Ubuntu. The internal drive was formatted NTFS. Why does it need all these extra steps while the A-110 was so simple to configure? Thanks in advance for your help! |

RE: Downloading NMT ....0% failed to download NMT!
If its an old Maxtor HDD then they dont work as they draw too much power.
Otherwise download the apps.nmt file from the PCh website support firmware section and use USB to install rather than online. There's been a few other recent threads for exactly the same thing, a search will get you then and enable you to see that it does work provided the HDD is OK. RE: Downloading NMT ....0% failed to download NMT!
Chris,
I know there's been a few threads on the internal HDD issue. However, I don't want an internal drive anymore, but just install the NMT apps on a 8GB USB stick. I'm just confused with how the setup works and fails on me every single time. I have an 8GB USB stick which I wanna use for the NMT apps and 1 USB drive (750GB) which I wanna use for movies and which contains the apps.nmt file. At the setup I choose for FRESH because this is my only option. After that I choose the 8GB usb stick to be my NMT source and choose LOCAL MEDIA (which would be my other USB device --> 750GB?) for the nmt.apps. I formats my 8GB stick, but still hangs at the "downloading NMT..." In a nutshell: - no internal hdd - 8GB USB for NMT apps - 750 GB for movies - hangs at Downloading NMT even though the nmt.apps file is on the 2nd USB device |

RE: Downloading NMT ....0% failed to download NMT!
Please do the following.
Remove your USB stick and your USB HDD. Format the USB stick to one partition on your PC. Insert it and do nothing more. Get a second USB stick, format it on a PC and give it a name, call it 'update_stick' or similar. Download the apps.nmt file for the firmware that you have on your player. Unpacy and taking just the 'apps.nmt' file place it on the USB stick called update_stick. no folder just the one file. Insert that into the A300. Wait. Wait. Then go into Settings > Maintenance > NMT Setup Wizard. Select the location for the NMT Apps as the 8Gb usb stick. Select the location for the apps.nmt file as the second update_stick. That should be good to go. If you still have problems then look at the 8Gb stick for things like U3 software or propriatery software. RE: Downloading NMT ....0% failed to download NMT!
I'm a little ashamed of telling you guys this but this is what happened:
When it requests ONLINE or LOCAL MEDIA I kept on selecting LOCAL MEDIA. At least, this is what I thought! Turns out I never actually selected LOCAL MEDIA and confirmed it with ENTER but only selected it and pressed GREEN. I really feel like a tit now, because I've been struggling with this from day 1! (day 13 now) Thanks for the quick support though!
