When I'm viewing the movie wall on my large-screen TV,... I really want to be able to tell the quality level of each movie. Here are the different 'movie types/quality' that my overlays will display:

1. 3D - Bluray: 3DSBS (side by side)
2. 1080 - Bluray: 1920 x "xxx" resolution
3. 720 - Bluray: 1280 x "xxx" resolution
4. 480 - Bluray Source, standard resolution output. (720x, x480, x576)
5. DVD - DVDrips, etc.
6. DVD - DVD Screeners
7. DVD - DVD R5
8. DVD - DVD TS
9. DVD - DVD CAM

I also want the wall to indicate "Movie Collections" and "TV Series"


INSTALLATION:

Preliminaries:
1. Install the latest revision of YAMJ (minimum rev. = r2959)
YAMJ Latest Development Build
2. Install the latest version of Eversion (Flash Skin)
Eversion: minimum r0160 required

If you're a newbie .. STOP! DO NOT PASS GO! DO NOT COLLECT $200!
Stop at this point,... make sure YAMJ works to your satifaction, and make sure that Eversion is working (using the "built-it" eskin - evstreamed) ... (trying to bypass these preliminary steps will cause you undue headache and frustration!!! )

BABY STEPS ,,,, BABY STEPS!!!!!

I also HIGHLY recommend that you make a new folder on your PC,... name it TestCollection, ... then copy 20-30 of your movies over to this folder to begin with. Then use this collection to get your jukebox setup the way you like,.... and when finished,.... THEN you can move over to your main Movie Collection. Having a TestCollection like this will allow YAMJ to run alot faster, make changes, and make sure you have everything just RIGHT,... before moving on.

3. Download and install the evZap! eskins for Eversion:
evZap Instructions & Download

Again, go NO further until you have mastered evZap! and have it running to you satisfaction! evZap! is documented very well, .. so I don't expect you to have any trouble here. (Note: A200/C200 owners may note some slowdowns in execution speed on the movie index walls and details pages,.. but we'll try and compensate for that in the next section)


4. Download Legion's evZap Overlays and Mods

Unzip and install to the YAMJ\Skins\Eversion\Eskins\evZap folder. (you'll overwrite only one file, load.eskin,... so you won't interfere with your current setup.)(this mod can also be installed even if the people-mod is installed).

[Folders named legions_wall and people_fanart will be installed under the media folder.

Currently I have 3 different overlays that can be used.

A. The first one is my initial overlay that I did and is mainly for A300/C300 only,.. because, like evZap!, it pushes 'flash' to it's limits. You probably will see hesitations/slow-downs when moving from screen to screen on your jukebox.

YAMJ Setting: for this new version of legion2 and legion4,.. you'll need to turn OFF fanart overlays, and re-run YAMJ with overwrite.fanart = true.

Locate "skin-user.properties" in the skins/eversion folder, and edit this file:
Line 111:

and change to:

fanart.overlay=false 


In order to change the "look" of the skins, we must turn off putting YAMJ overlays on the fanart. Instead, we'll do this when needed in the skin.

To use these, you have to edit the settings.xml file. (use Notepad++ if possible)
(YAMJ\Skins\Eversion\Eskins\evZap\settings.xml)

You need to change four entries (indexINDEX, indexMOVIE, indexMOVIESET, and detailsMOVIE)

B. For A200/C200 owners, or others who want a faster responding jukebox display ... use the following settings instead of the ones above.

C. IF you want speed, but also want the TOP250 icon and Rotten Tomatoes rating, then use the following settings instead:

That's it! Re-run your YAMJ (overwrite skin files) and you're should be "cook'in with gas" (you also can install these files and edits, in the output jukebox as well, if you don't want to rerun YAMJ)

Three words are displayed in the ribbon across each movie.

1st word: MTYPE
Possible values: MOVIE, MOVIESET, TV, TVSET

2nd word: SMARTRES (smart resolution)
Possible values: 3D720, 3D1080, HD720, HD1080, HD4.3, SD
(3D720 & 3D1080 are noninterleaved formats, ie... won't work on 3DSBS or 3DTAB movies)

3rd word: VideoSource (from YAMJ looking at your movies filename)
(normal) Possible Values: 3D, BluRay, DVD, DVDRip, HDDVD, HDRip, HDTV, R5, DVDSCR, LINE. & UNKNOWN

FILMOGRAPHY NOTES

We use special fanart,... not the regular movie fanart. This fanart concerns the individual actor, and not any particular movie. If you look in the evZap/media/people_fanart folder, you will see that initially I've done about 100 of these fanarts.

This fanart should be 1280x720 resolution., and should have the naming convention:

Firstname Lastname.fanart.jpg

ie
WRONG: nicole kidman.Fanart.jpg
WRONG: NicoleKidman.fanart.jpg
WRONG: Nicole_Kidman_fanart.jpg
CORRECT: Nicole Kidman.fanart.jpg

If you've got some photoshop talent, by all means make up some Movie Star fanart,.. and post it up or all of us to use!!!

I don't have the above settings in YAMJ moviejukebox.properties. Do I need to write it from scratch? Also is there a way of just rernunning my YAMJ jus to download the people properties (update my jukebox) without having to download another jukebox?

yes, you can just copy the above, and paste into your moviejukebox properties file.
then re-run Yamj , all overwrite's set to false, and YAMJ should start the people run!

Don't forget to download and copy over the People.jpg files from the first post in the terraNOVA skin page.

Just remember, with popularity =1 yamj is going to scan every SWINING cast member ... If you have close to 500 movies, then maybe start off with a popularity = 2,.... then tonight before going to bed, set it to 1 and rerun.

I'm hoping everyone likes it enough to try and use it.

The links are already entered in the code,... but we'll have to wait for the next 1 or 2 upgrades to Eversion before it gets turned on. At least that's what I heard.

For me, it's really nice to just have the ability to see each actor and their name.

As you know, it takes almost a day to process the 'people' so it's still runing. I like the look of it and it seems relatively straight forward. Couple of my mates are currently running it too.

Yeah I agree, seeing the actors and their names is ace. I can't wait for Eversion release the upgrade for the filmography though, that would be sick

Well, your question is sorta cryptic,... but, in gerneral, you should have already installed the eskin called evZap,....

soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, install the eskin evZAP, (which will make the folder called evZap) get it working to your liking, THEN you can install my overlays for that eskin.
