PCH-C300 Shipment / General Question

Hi this is going to be my First Popcorn Hour and I really don't know much about programming or anything, So my first PCH Device be C-300 as My order should have been shipped out since I placed the order. it should be on jan 20th batch according to sales department. I still haven't got the tracking information and I am in California So my question is Should I be getting it by next week ? or is it going to take longer ?

2nd question is Does C-300 comes with a hard drive if no is there any 4tb Drive that can be installed on pch or 3tb if yes which ones are those.

first when did you place the order? if you got in the 20th batch it should have been delivered by now. As its usually 2-3 day shipping time from china to California. Now granted last week was Chinese new year so everything slows down.

No a drive does not come pre installed, Also any 3tb drive will work. go for a green model of whatever brand you like.

And also when asked on jan 24 about the tracking information this is what they emailed me back

So I been waiting ever since for the c-300 to arrive And I have no tracking information so far

sounds like you might be one of the unlucky ones whose units didn't pass customs before the week long whole country holiday started. syabas should be opened back up in the next 24 hours, I suspect your get your info quickly after or at least a reply.

and on the hard drive question so would this drive work with C-300

See the WIKI to see if any other owners of that model have posted. I do remember one 2.5Tb HDD from WD with similar model number required the user to exchange it for a 2Tb one.

I know that HDD's larger than 2Tb can have problems if you indend to install the NMT Apops onto it. Personally I cannot see why anyone would risk 3Tb of files nearly when a simple NMT Apps update or some other corruption caused by say experimenting could make you lose your HDD contents.

I would go with a USB enclosure and follow the guidance with regards formatting a 3Tb HDD using 64k allocation size. Thewn I'd use a USB stick for the actual NMT Apps as then you only corrupt/lose potentially and not Tb's of your precious files.

Trying to format a 3Tb HDD in a PC could cause problems unless you have a EFi bios. Have a read into your PC and its parts and whether they can format a 3Tb HDD to NTFS or Ext3.

Thank you for the quick reply, With that said the 3TB might would give problems with the app installing them I would go for 2TB drive and I do have 2 external usb drives one 3tb and one is 4tb I hope it could read data off it once I get my Popcorn hour c300 will see about that.
