Language, Audio Codec & Channels and Subtitles
Would I be right in saying that YAMJ will only generate these fields in the XMLs from either MediaInfo and/or filename?
If so, would anyone know why some times MediaInfo won't be able to detect the language of the film? Subtitles: Will the language of the subtitles only be generated to the XML if hardcoded in the media file? In other words, if there is a .srt (or similar) file along side the film, it seems that YAMJ puts "YES" in the XML but not the language. Would this be solved by renaming the film and associated files (e.g. artwork, etc) to include the language and set filename.scanner.language.detection to false? |

RE: Language, Audio Codec & Channels and Subtitles
look in the xml, not what eversion is putting on your screen there are some differences and different eskins handle it differently also.
but generally yes, it comes from mediainfo, filename or nfo file. depending on how well made your video file is, it may not have what language it is for mediainfo to find. |

RE: Language, Audio Codec & Channels and Subtitles
I am looking in the xml; sorry should have been more explicit. This is sort how I came to the conclusion re how the xml is getting this info. Forgotten that nfo would also be a source but that's because I'm trying desperately hard to avoid using them...
![]() Got it re the mediainfo and how well the video file is encoded. Thanks. What about subtitles? edit: is there away to just rename the subtitle file to include the language or do all the files need to be changed? For example would this work: C'est arrivé près de chez vous (1992).avi C'est arrivé près de chez vous (1992).en.srt |
