A-300 - Screen goes Black for few seconds then comes back
I have this problem very often. That the screen goes Black for few seconds then comes back. Sometimes does it 10 times per movie.
My video is set to 1080P-60hz. I don't remember I had that issue with older Firmware. Any help would be nice....... |

RE: A-300 - Screen goes Black for few seconds then comes back
OK...
what display, HDMI strait to display or receiver in between, any movie type like MKV, AVI, ISO, or all....? Look this is not the helpdesk we are just fellow users and we don't have a magical crystal ball to see what's wrong. If your question is if it is a generic bug in all A300 then the answer is NO.... for each two of you... So assume you either have a defect that needs to be repaired or something in you setup or environment is messing up the playback... RE: A-300 - Screen goes Black for few seconds then comes back
Sorry if it came off that way, usually when I have an issue, other people do as well so it was surprising. I have a receiver in between using the same setup as my c200 it replaced that didn't have the issue. So far it happens on DVD rips in video_ts format and appears to be random. I was watching king of the hill yesterday and a bluray concert rip in folder format and it did it, but a watched the a300 all day today and it didn't do it. Mine was also set at 1080p/69 he with frame rate sync to NTSC/24p. Using a 60 inch pioneer plasma, and Yamaha a3000 receiver. I think the stuff I watched was filmed at 30fps but not positive. Maybe framerate sync issue?

running torrent or NZBget also?
try and remember what movies it happened and run MediaInfo on them to check for common variables.. RE: A-300 - Screen goes Black for few seconds then comes back
if you think the problem is firmware. Then downgrade you can still get the 25th October firmware here http://www.popcornhour.com/download/A300...-A300.html just put it on a usb stick and flash away. If it still happens then you know its not a new firmware issue per say and if it doesnt happen then you know something changed.

RE: A-300 - Screen goes Black for few seconds then comes back
I wonder if it's my settings related to frame rate sync. I have the resolution set to 1080p/60hz and framerate sync to NTSC/24p. Is that right? I know my tv can do 24p, does that mean the framerate will auto detect and run correctly or should I set the resolution to 1080p/24hz?

RE: A-300 - Screen goes Black for few seconds then comes back
Okay, I just experienced this problem myself. Precisely as the OP described: It's only happened with a VIDEO_TS folder, the video itself was 29.97 fps, and the dropouts happened about ten times during the course of the movie.
As I am somewhat sensitive to video/audio issues (example: I detected the sync problem the A-300 still has with MKV videos), I noticed other issues with playback of this video. Specifically, there would occasionally be extremely brief (one frame) pauses, like the frame was being duplicated once and the following frame was skipped, but without interruption to the audio. Likely this phenomenon was a less severe version of the straight-up video dropouts. Attempts to repeat these problems on other media players, or at least identify whether the DVD was faulty at the moments when they occurred, failed. The problem is unique to the A-300. Probable cause: The video in question is a movie at 23.976 fps. I am strongly inclined to suspect a flaw with the A-300's inverse-telecine algorithm. Perhaps bad flags momentarily cause it to hiccup. Perhaps it is simply faulty in general. In any event, a solution is advised: Never let the A-300 play a DVD ISO or VIDEO_TS if the video contained therein is a film. History serves this is unlikely to be fixed - nor the MKV sync issue - until an entirely new player is released. |

(02-23-2012 03:54 AM)Darkling Wrote: I have a C-300 whit the same problem, pretty annoying. Same problem here with A300 purchased early Jan. DVDs are ripped with DVDfab. All ripped to VIDEO_TS file structure. All of them are film based movies. They reside on a QNAP 879pro NAS server, the share is configured as NFS. The network is gigabit. I have not updated the firmware from the Oct release. I have movies that were filmed as far back as the 30's to as recent as 2006. I've ripped 350 DVDs or so thus far, and have another or another 150+ to go. As far as I can tell they all do it to one extent or another. I gave up on an old Marx Brother's movie because it was doing it every 3 or 4 minutes. Same film viewed on my computer with Corel WinDVD played flawlessly. Everything after 2006 is BD, which I've yet to rip. |
