Video stops after 80-90% of playback

With some MKV videos the playback stops somewhere between 80 and 90% and it is nog possible to use the timesearch and the jump functions of 10 20 etc %.

anytime this happens it means there is a physical problem with the file jump/fast forward only works if the pch can read the end of the file.. I would download mkvmerge gui and run the file through it on remux should take a couple seconds

Thanks for the quick answer.
I've tried this but the remuxing the file just removed the bit of the movie the A300 wouldn't play. It was able to jump through the video with the numeric buttons.

so the actual file has a problem then not much you can do without ripping the video out and trying to re encode it. If this was a downloaded file maybe it did not complete all the way

That seems to be the case, but it is with mutiple files and it is always the FFDshow filter files that have this problem and it started appearing about a month ago. Before that there were no problems.
