[Bug] DTS-HD passthrough issues

Hi,

When I play BR Disc or BR ISO, DTS HD MA 6.1 doesn't work...however, my ONKYO home-cinema system is able to process 6.1 sound...

Does anyone has the same issue?...

My C-300 has a very problematic DTS-HD handshake with a Denon 3310 receiver. BD iso / remux films with lossless audio don't produce multichannel audio. The problem was not present with my former A-210 / 300 players. The same files play just fine through the Oppo BD 95. Other mkv files without hi-def audio tracks play just fine. I am using the latest firmware as at today, don't know exactly which version that is.

In general I find the C-300 much more sluggish and often slow to respond vs the A series players I've had before. It would not shut down at times, requiring my unplugging from the mains.

I'm having the exact problem with my C-300 with my Yamaha 1900 receiver, had to change audio settings to downmix to get PCM sound.

I have the same problem since I have the A300 (instead of A210). When playing any DTS HD Master soundstrack there will be no sound on my Onkyo NR609. I hope this is a known bug an will be solved in the new firmware update. Can anyone comfirm this?

I have the A300 and Onkyo 609

DTS- HD MSTR works fine with my mkv files. I say fine, there is an initial 5 secs no audio then ok for another few seconds, then a drop out for another couple of seconds then plays fine for rest of movie.

I think its just the initial handshake via HDMI and then the amp is fine from then on

Thanks for your reply! Do you have any advice for me? Can I do anything with the handshake problem on the settings in the popcorn A300 and / or Onkyo NR609? DTS HD Master passthrough doesn't give any sound and all other soundtracks do as by what you mentioned, a few seconds no sound and then it works fine. Thank you!

Because you say you have problems with BD and BD ISO's, I think the first thing to do would be to try an mkv file with DTS-HD MSTR soundtrack - rip one of your BD's using MakeMKV

and let us know what happens

I now tested an other BR ISO and MKV with DTS-HD MSTR soundtrack and That played well. Still do not know why the other BR ISO does not play the DTS-HD MSTR.

Now a second problem occurerd (outside of the remaining known bugs) .. my AVCHD ISO files (one image file) do play well but the AVCHD with separate folder structure most of the time will not start ... So another bug to search for a solution.

My guess is that it's a Java issue in combination with the ISO extraction..... if it all gets to complex and memory intensive both processes lose out.
When playing a BD disk or ISO the menu governs the audio output.. when playing simpleBD or file bases the NMT handles the audio based on the data in the file.. and it works.
