NFS issues - Server:CENTOS6.2 Client:C-200

NFS issues - Server:CENTOS6.2 Client:C-200
Hi folks,

Here is a plot of my problems:

My C-200 cannot access to a NFS export from my server (centos6.2).

First things to know:

My others computers (laptop/ubuntu10.4 ; Desktop/fedora15 + Win7) can ALL access to the same NFS share from the server (centos6.2).

My server (centos6.2) can access without any issues to the C-200 internal HDD using NFS.

My C-200 can also, without any problem, access to a random NFS share build from my laptop for example.

First thought about the problem:

Might be an NFS server version issue -> what is the NFS version to be used for the C-200 ?

It should not be a network issues (see 2 statement in First thing to know section above), also the different computers can ping each others without any exceptions.

Thanks for looking at this problem and for trying to enlight me with your lights!

I still cannot find any fix or even a workaround!

I am now thinking of downgrading to centos6.0 or fedora 14 (as it used to work with fedora...)

If anyone has a thought, don't be shy! go on and tell me.

Hi, (bonjour..)

Yep i do have some news, which i did not post here only because i forgot about this thread (after not having much answers...)

I solved this by forcing a specific nfs server version on my server.

You can find a guide to achieve this at this address : hxxp://cavepopo.hd.free.fr/wordpress/network/nfs-the-network-file-system-practical-examples/
Check the "2.1 Forcing a NFS server to use a chosen version" section.

Feel free to ask post question if you have any ...

RE: NFS issues - Server:CENTOS6.2 Client:C-200
Waoo top cool (merci !), it works perfectly
I setup my FC17 as mention

file : /etc/sysconfig/nfs
Code:
MOUNTD_NFS_V2="no"
MOUNTD_NFS_V3="yes"
RPCNFSDARGS="-N 2"
RPCNFSDARGS="-N 4"

So now I could mount the share, and this works fine

/bin/mount 192.168.1.218:/home/cathy/movies /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/fc17_movies

Code:
sh-3.00# pwd
/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE
sh-3.00# mkdir fc17_movies
sh-3.00# /bin/mount 192.168.1.218:/home/cathy/movies /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/fc17_movies
sh-3.00# ls -al
drwxr-xr-x    4 root     root            0 Aug 23 19:41 .
drwxr-xr-x    4 root     root            0 Aug 23 19:36 ..
drwxrwxrwx  138 nmt      root        36864 Aug 23 11:44 fc17_movies
drwxrwxrwx    2 root     root            0 Jan  1  2008 NETWORK_BROWSER

As you see fc17_movies is chmoded 777 and chowned nmt, if I mount on /mnt (as I did first) I get chmoded 700 and and chowned nmt and chgrouped nmt, so even the root user can't read and as you can't use "su - nmt" it's not usable. Fortunatly mounting on /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE is perfect and I can use it for YAMJ.

Thank a lot, I hope it will helpCentOS and Fedora users.
