Found on IMDB, but not in NMJ
Maybe i have missed a post or not read through all the manuals.
But why is it, that I can find a movie on imdb.com I type the TTxxxxx number into NMJ, but it says: NO CONTENT FOUND. Is the http://www.imdb.com not 1:1, for what the system behind NMJ video-tagging is using? PS: I have a A-300, do i have NMJ V1 or V2 ? |

The links you posted should be correct. NMJ uses info from TMDB and TVDB to populate the panels you see. What cbr900 is saying is that the NMJ scanner uses TheMovieDB for movie scanning and TheTVDB for TV series scanning. It may be that the particular title you have is not in theMovieDB and so you get no (or incorrect) results. As these DBs are user updated (like Wikipedia) you are relying on a user adding the info to the database for you to use (or you can add it yourself).
There are a number of reasons why the NMJ uses theMovieDB & TheTVDB: Its free  They both have far superior artwork than IMDB They both have more choices of artwork TheTVDB has a far more comprehensive TV show detail listings NMJv1 used (probably still does use) IMDB and Syabas did pay a licence to use IMDB but it is extremely expensive and wasn't quite adequate for the NMJ needs (its TV section is frankly crap). Samsung PS50P96FD Plasma (ISF Calibrated), Sony BDP-S550, SkyHD, HDMI 4x2 Matrix, Synology 1511+ with DX510 25TB NAS, Onkyo 605 receiver, Kef Q Series speakers QED cables. C200 & A210, A300 1.5TB Internal HDD in each. |

I am always usind the ID from imdb.com and it works perfectly well. (I enter "tt+number") on my C300 and it gets the correct movie tag. |

Here some more informations I just found out.
The NMJ is indeed searching in the http://www.themoviedb.org site. The movies information on this site can be entered by registered users (for free). When entering a new movie, one has to enter the IMDB id code for this movie (tt+number). I think TMDB is using the IMDB id as index. That's why you can retrive movies information from TMDB, by entering the tt 'number' of IMDB. If the movie isn't in TMDB, the NMJ won't retrieve any information. How ever in this case, you can add the information yourself in TMDB and then refresh your movie entry in the NMJ. It works very well. I just did it myself for 2 of my movies which did not show up in the NMJ. Once created in TMDB, you need to wait for 5 - 10 minutes. Hope it does help. |
