A-300 Video-Audio out of sync bug
This may have been posted/requested elsewhere but I'd REALLY like to see this solved asap...
On the A-300, nearly all videos (esp mkv's) play out of sync as far as video-audio is concerned! Even when there is multiple audio (e.g. dts and dd), choosing one or the other doesn't really make much of a difference. These video play fine on my computer. So, and I apologize if this has been put on the list already, please fix this one too!! Thx Hans ................................................................................................... RE: A-300 Video-Audio out of sync bug
You better study this a bit more.....
And yes there are more users who don't know that they need to sync the audio as a setting on either their display, audio receiver or in the NMT it self... there is no sync issue in you PC cause audio and video are handled by the same device.... as the NMT allows for pass through of coded audio the decoding is done in a different device and audio sync needs to be set.... don't worry for most setups it's set once and forget... How true my SIG can be...

Did you read this post? http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...light=sync there might be some things to try in there. If your connected to a reciever try to connect straight to your tv see if that changes anything. use different wires, try to narrow down where the problem is coming from because its a verry good posibility its not the A300. William I read your sig my First day in this forum a few months ago. and since then, every problem I've had with my A300 I assumed was because I was doing something Wrong. So I'd search the forum untill I found something to try and tried again, or asked for someone help to me understand. (after I tried everything) 90% of the time it was my fault and the issue was resolved. with the exception of one. |

RE: A-300 Video-Audio out of sync bug...is it?
Hi mjsgem, thanks for the link, I just had a look, it still leaves open the possibility that sth is amiss with the firmware, see final post in that thread (but please read on). I will also keep your idea in mind to link the pch directly to the tv.
Hi Willem, I appreciate the content-related part of your contribution, I'm not so sure about that signature bit I guess. Thing is, I NEVER assume to know everything there is to know because I don't and I try to keep an open mind. If I didn't believe I could pick up ideas in here, I wouldn't be here. Good, having that out of the way (I hope), this is what I can add: Look at my signature, it shows you my av hardware setup. With the A-300's audio settings, I have tried passthrough and downmix with all audio formats (even though the Onkyo can handle most if not all). It does NOT make any difference, the being-out-of-sync is still there. I have read very well what you wrote in your reply, trust me, but the av receiver would not be (have been) my first guess. Reason for that is that with my previous media streamer (Netgear EVA9150) I did not have these problems (it had other issues though ) but of course I will now follow up on your idea and have a look if I can correct this through the av receiver. My Onkyo can handle DTS and Dolby Digital just fine. As a starting point, what would you recommend: set the A-300 to passthrough OR downmix and then fine-tune/sync within the Onkyo? Or...is this plain trial-and-error "science"? Thanks for the thumbs up. Hans .. RE: A-300 Video-Audio out of sync bug
@Hans I also have a Onkyo...
My advice would be to prefer passthrough, to use HDMI to Onkyo, enable CEC on Onkyo and check the audio sync value in the Onkyo. here is a good sync test in HD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCPEidaVzQU google and download it On your old Netgear EVA9150 there was only DTS passthrough no HD-audio so low bitrate not much to process and cause delay... and sync for the most part was handled in the Netgear EVA9150. Now the majority or even all is decoded in the AVR so it should bet set for the delay time.. either by HDMI negotiation or manual..
