Downloading subtitles
Hi

unfortunately the thread is closed with the the subdownloader.net information.
So I start a new one.
How do you get your subtitles? Often friends of my wife come by for watching a movie and the subs are missing. Is there a quick way that the pch can download the missing srt?
Did anyone get the subdownloader to work? I'd like to know how...

thanks

RE: Downloading subtitles
I use Periscope mostly. It uses the filesize and filename of your movies to search on different websites for a corresponding subtitle in the preferred languages. It doesn't always find a subtitle but in those cases I usually can't find one manually either.

Couch Potato also tries to download subtitles for movies it has found but I don't know what method it's using.

Periscope runs on a PC though, not on the PCH.

With NMJ v2 you can also download subtitles directly, but I think you simply get a list of available subtitles and you have to choose one manually. I'm not sure if you only get valid subtitles (ie. good sync) or if simply everything that matches the filename or movie file name is shown.

RE: Downloading subtitles
Ok thanks for the answer... so what I want is basically NMJv2 (I guess I am not the only oneTongue).

Although I just installed periscope on the C-200 and it works. The only problem is now that I use a telnet connection to start the script. With an app or a html file sending a python command ($ periscope -l en "filename") this would even work on the C-200 itself.
I actually would prefer to choose from a bunch on subtitles files instead of just waiting (and not finding) the correct one. just sync with the PCH and I am happy with that...
