As title says - can't find reference to it on searching the forums - maybe I'm using wrong terminology?

All I have is poster of movie no backgrounds or fan art (same with TV)

It won't download it automatically, but you can add it yourself.

When your movie filename is named:
filename.avi

your fanart file should be
filename.fanart.jpg

This will be picked up by the NMJ.

It will get it itself. If it has not then you can still get the player to get it via the NMJ UI and selecting 'edit'. Follow instructions in the manual.

Hang on NMJKv2 will get it itself, not sure but think NMJv1 also does as well.

Hey Chris... Not one bit if fan art so don't think v1 has it

Hi,

Maybe, because fanart jpgs are bigger files, and they will increase a lot the size of nmj database...

Yeah but other jukeboxes have them as standard without any problems .. oversight scans my entire collection in about 30 mins and has all the image content...NMJ takes about 12hrs +

Any fanart files that are > 1Mb are not displayed.

Rom's NMJToolbox has an auto image resizing in it to reduce fanart to < 1Mb.

NMJv1 can display fanart. NMJv2 can download fanart. NMJv2 has a better edit function and you can see all of the possible fanart displays and select which you would like to download from it. You can also do this in NMJToolbox.

Just to clarify on what Chris just mentioned: NMJv1 will not download fan-art, but it can display it. You'll have to download this yourself, and Rom's NMJToolbox makes this VERY simple. Just give it a try, it's the perfect maintenance tool for NMJ.

...or you can do like me....give up NMJ and choose YAMJ, to build your movies collection, you just need to have on your movie folder:
name_of_movie.mkv
name_of_movie.fanart.jpg

and for each movie YAMJ will display your fanart as background....

I have all my movie collection with fan art, but i can't recall if NMJ display my fan art....

If you placed those files in the folders and scanned with NMJ then it too would use the images.

I'm loving NMJv2, I'm using it all the time now having moved from YAMJ. Just need cue/flac cue/ape supported and a few other things improving.

To be honest YAMJ isnt an option and never was due to it needing to be produced 'offline' .. Oversight has been the superior 'automatic' and online (as in on the HDD and no pc needed) choice for me.. but I wanted to try out the NMJ but at the moment it's to much of a 'bit of both' for me .. if it could scan like Lordy's Oversight scanner does but display content like it does then it would be a contender for me.. YAMJ has always been to much work for my dynamic libarary (only my opinion!)

I've got some background art work on the NMJ now (but like I said too much work to for me to use) - However, it doesnt display very well in the 'background' do you know what the size should be for a 720p output?

hi just download ember media manager gets fanart posters the lot and is 97% right and when nmjv1 scan 97% gets it right then use nmj toolbox for the odd few

Fanart must be <1Mb in size and NMJToolbox2 will resize any images that are too large automatically.

Resolution wise 1280x720 or larger as it does resize if oversize, do check the 1Mb limit if you use your own images.

oversized=higher quality even if it means you upscale a 720p image to larger.
