USB Port Not Working

Hi ,

I have the E Great M34 with the last avilable firmware from their site.
and all of a sudden the USB port stopped working. I have tried to change cables , tried different HDD, toggled power back on /off, reset to factory settings but it still doesnt recognise my External Drive anymore. My HDD keeps flickering and the light comes on on the drive indicating that there is power. The rest of the NAS etc works perfectly. I woudl prefer using only the NAS but woudl want my external drive.
any ides on what could be casuing this all of a sudden??

Just to make sure I understand, your external HDD and your NAS are two separate things, one of which works?

1) Does your HDD work when you plug it in to something else, like a PC or a laptop?
2) Do you have any other external USB devices you could plug into your eGreat, such as a flash drive or even a keyboard?
3) Is your external HDD bus-powered, or does it have a separate power supply? If bus-powered, do you have a powered USB hub that you could try, to ensure that it's getting enough power?
4) Can you plug the HDD into the NAS and share it to the NMT?

You could try reflashing the firmware, but you're probably going to have a hard time unless you can get a USB flash drive to work. My guess is that the hardware has given up and you're out of luck.
