no subtitles in NMJ / A-300 ?
Hi all,
Am I doing something wrong or why am I not able to lad subtitles from the NMJ application?
So, after I open Networked Media Jukebox, I select a movie, I am able to read the synopsis of the selected movie for example but there is nothing under the subtitle paragraph.
Is this a bug? I just bought my first A-300 last week and I am not used yet with the software.

Well done for the forum, I think this is the best way to fix bugs.
My impression so far is that developers of popcorn-hour are also answering / posting on this forum.
Regarding A-300, I like it so far but it is kind of slow, search option is not working properly from what I have seen. I have bought it with an internal 2GB SATA HDD. Another quick remark is the ftp access on the box. It is not working with the provided username / pass. Is this also a bug? Samba works fine, I was able to map all the drives.
Thanks !

RE: no subtitles in NMJ / A-300 ?
Moved to NMJ Section as your main queries are on that.

On FTP you need to enter the user 'nmt' with password '1234'. Lower case not capitals. See the A300 manual page 70:
Quote:The FTP service allows for simple and convenient file transfer to and from your Popcorn Hour A-300.

To use the FTP service go into the NMT Applications section of the Setup menu and start the service. Please note that the service will remain on, even after a power cycle, until you go back and stop it.

To connect to the Popcorn Hour A-300 via FTP, you will need to use an FTP client. Some free clients are FileZilla and Winscp. If you are using a Windows computer you can use Windows Explorer as an FTP client by typing the fol-lowing into the address bar:
ftp://NMT-IP/Where NMT-IP is the IP address or host name of the Popcorn Hour A-300.

For example; 192.168.1.101 or A300.

When prompted for credentials use the information provided below (unless you changed the ftp pass-word). Host: IP Address of your device
Port: 21
Username: nmt Password: 1234

The manual has the wrong username for FTP and I have reported it to Syabas.

Subtitles are downloaded direct from opensubtitles.org and others have reported problems with their servers. Keep trying and look for the other threads/posts to see if you are suffering from server problems or theres something else in the mix.
Are your subtitles downloaded or are they already in your folder/file location. The sub files do not show in the Ui presently, again Syabas have been made aware of this and will include the likes of .srt/.pgs/etc. in future firmwares.

RE: no subtitles in NMJ / A-300 ?
Hi,
thanks for coming back to me!
The subtitles are not downloaded nor in the folder/file location.
I scanned the entire HDD where the movies are located and after this process was finished, I opened the NMJ application expecting to have also somehow the option to download or to load a subtitle for a movie. After I select a movie, I can read the synopsis - but there is no way to load or download a subtitle from here. Is this the bug you mentioned about? I have to mention though that from the file browser I am able to download manually a subtitle which will be displayed successfully while playing the movie.
Cheers
Roman

RE: no subtitles in NMJ / A-300 ?
Add me to the list of not being able to download subtitles, as with adisbr01, no menu for edit files ect in NMJ, on the lastest firmare, using the c-300.

Edit: was able to get subtitles using file mode though, once I figured how to get into file mode Smile

RE: no subtitles in NMJ / A-300 ?
If you read the manual you'll see that you have to download the subtitles in the standard or thumbnail UI and then rescan with NMJ to update the fact that you have downloaded subs and they are in the folder and will show in NMJ.
