RE: Release Date for the New UI
the porting won't be that hard, for sure it will need some time, but the important stuff is already inside the C200 beta, we are working since 200 series on the flash api, the main reason for this step was to give companies and users a api to develop apps for it, this wouldn't be possible without the api because sigma doesn't allow that, on 100er series it was easier because they had a sdk leak and some other security shit
, 200er and 300er series it would be very hard to develop something which can access the playback stuff, so you wouldn't see projects like Eversion to name one of the popular ones, the flash api is the important thing which takes the most time and it is still in development. The current C200 beta will be the last release with the old ui, so even if users don't like the new UI, they have always the option to flash back to this build. RE: Release Date for the New UI
I am quite disappointed to see that the current beta does not address the problem that many of us are experiencing with all TV series showing generic thumbnails in wall mode, although the correct thumbnail is shown in the details page. The similar problem happens with many movies.
Some weeks ago they told me that they were working on it: Quote:Our database engineer has figured out the cause of the issue and is working with our firmware development team to resolve the issue in a future update. |

RE: Release Date for the New UI
Can you really see them putting effort into NMJv1 when the firmware after next will remove it and replace it with NMJv2.

RE: Release Date for the New UI
because there aren't 2 nmjs.. theres version 1 which is now obsolete, and there is version 2.. The bug is being fixed in version 2 and in a future firmware update you'll get the latest version of nmj including the bugfix.

RE: Release Date for the New UI
Exactly, just wait for the firmware release after next. I just did not want you to have any expectation that it would be fixed before the port of NMJv2/300UI.
Sometimes the PCH Support give answers that are not shall we say 100% correct. There is a genuine language issue as well with it being based in Malaysia and media players/bugs are complex and quite specialised. So unless the support person is a fan of media players themselves they may not understadn your query even if they do understand the language. Its a bit of a thankless task which most support/customer service jobs are these days. RE: Release Date for the New UI
OK then I really look forward to seeing NMJ2 in my A200 with that bug fixed... I hope that the port does not take too much time. It feels like ages...
Thanks for the clarification. PS: BTW can you believe that I received a warning from Kir (moderator) because of 'creating an offtopic discussion' in this thread? I hope I don't get a second warning (or ban) for this response! |

RE: Release Date for the New UI
...so we can revert back to old f/w if we don't like NMJ2.., 'cos I was under the impression NMJ2 was 'stepstone' thus once it's flashed we'd be stuck with it?

RE: Release Date for the New UI
you know, that's an excellent question. I would say no at the moment because it hasn't been said and the last stepstone is the current public firmware. but the reason for hte last stepstone was bluray certificates and it's getting close to needing them updated again so I really have no clue. I would think no, but it's a guess.

RE: Release Date for the New UI
I am so depressed with all this. I agree that Syabas was not what is was before. Development and bug fixing has come to a crawl. I still have bugs on my A300 that have been reported since november, and 4 months later are still unfixed.
Even after a Syabas developer (kjeldoren) confirmed on December one bug concerting IDX subtitled it had been fixed (it hasn't), but he stopped replying to private messages, so I don't know what's happening. Now since the latest A300 firmware, 1 out of every 2 times I delete files, the unit hangs. I have to go back to sources. (sigh). Sorry for venting, just depressed on the current state of development and support. |
