I had something similar, after reboot the A-300 wasn't responsive for a couple of minutes. The symptoms look the same as described by Adik. For me it was a process called "synMusic.php force Syn" which consumed all the CPU power after reboot which made the A-300 slow as hell. After a couple of minutes, this process stops and the A-300 was responsive again. After power off/reboot this process is taking of again.

Thanks for your reply. That's exactly it!
I also have the process synMusic.php forceSyn using up almost 100% cpu. But in my case the process is still running since yesterday evening, so not very temporary...
I will try the workaround mentioned in the thread you listed.

Edit: Uhh... vi command is not found.

Sounds really like a bug to me. Maybe someone from Syabas can pick this up (as also mentioned in the other thread) .

synMusic.php is part of MyIhome service....
First disable that service if you don't use it.... same goes for all service you don't use... btw..

at startup this service checks for all the files it needs to share..... a filesystem errors like halfelite mentioned can still delay or frustrate the check...
If your sharing a huge amount of files it will take a while

So if you use MyIhome for UPNP filesharing from the A300 then make sure the files are correct and not damaged... and allow for a reasonable time depending on volume..

Be aware that there are far superior ways of sharing your files across your network than MyIhome, like NFS(Linux) and SMB(windows).

Is it really a FW bug? what do you think... do a search on synMusic.php... first user with the same problem was in 2009...

You can wait for the "bug" to get fixed or try and understand who is responsible for what... and solve it yourself...

Yes, I found out that I can also disable it using the API (since going through the setup screen takes very long):

Maybe bug is a too strong word, let's call is 'design feature' then...

The reason I put it under this FW thread is that it occurred after the FW update. Before that I didn't have this problem with myIHome service. Maybe I was too quick drawing this conclusion, and was the reboot (and any actions before that) the problem. But since my system reboots on a very regular base (mostly spontanious), that problem should have occured sooner I guess.

I'm just happy it is resolvable and I can use the box again...
Although I still think you should be able to use this product without having to have sys-admin-guru skills... But maybe that's the price you have to pay for wanting all the many great features this thing has...

If you are not specific in describing the problem you are having, nobody will understand what you are referring to... even if it is something that has been reported by somebody else already.

it happens frequently, that when I play a DVD (video TS or Iso's) that I don't have any sound or at a extremely low level.
Rebooting or re-selecting the same file sometimes solves the problem. So I know for sure that the files are fine (otherwise it would have sound after rebooting).
Only Blu-ray files are playing without a problem.
So that's the only file type which I watch at this moment.

HI this is my second post-the first one was lost

I got my A-300 two weeks ago and i noticed it's not possible to enlage the subtitles size.
With the c-300 it is possible!!

Can anyone tell me how to enlage the subtitles or if it's not possible will it be in the future firmware?????

The firmware is the same for subtitles. I bet you have your colour set to Auto on the A300.

My A300 came back from RMA. I haven't yet experienced the random reboots I had before.

Latest firmware issues:
- doesn't produce any sound in passthrough when playing FLAC above 16 bits (eg: 20, 24) or above 48Khz (eg : 96, 192).
- subs from MKV can get out of sync when you start a video "somewhere else than at 0h0min0s".

I experience the same problems you discribe, the sub-sync-MKV problem is known bug as far as I understood in previous posts.
When I have sync problems after e.g. forwarding, I stop the movie and press play again, thus far this did the trick (allthough it isn't a pretty one...).

The FLAC problems are really annoying me allso, my old A200 could play 'm all....bummer!
I really hope this problem will be addressed in the near future.

Note: I use HDMI audio, possibly it will work on SP-DIF (electrical).
I didn't test this though.

then here, already in possession of the a200 and a210, I just bought the a300!
I see various problems identical to a210 has its launch:
the plate is stops at loading logo popocorn which requires a reboot!
when playing a dvd or blu ray iso mode it is impossible to navigate through the menu of it and start playing, even with mandatory reboot changed options
I hope the next firmware will correct these problems quickly because it is a pity to find the same bugs for platinum almost identical to the previous

So back in the box it goes i know you have to wait for ..... but really this is the WORST product you have released and yes i own 2 or 3 units from each product line.
