I'm pretty disappointed with this box too. I went from an A110 to the A300 and was pretty underwhelmed when I started digging into the box.

My justification for purchasing an A300 instead of another box is the "devil you know is better than the devil you don't know" philosophy. That's my mistake and I won't make it again.

NMJ is a mess when you try to use it with NAS or multiple drives and YAMJ/Eversion is OK but the flash skins are way too slow.

I've spent so much time on this box that it has become a part time job.

How about fix NMJ so that I don't have multiple jukeboxes. Thanks for the vague tip though.

There's posts on how to set that up.. and I can't be specific with no info but anyone saying slow eversion usually ends up being slow network. You can post for help in appropriate threads if you want or need help on either of these topics.. I'd start with the RWIN thread for networking speed and the guide to 1 large nmj database for that.

How can it be a slow network issue when Eversion and Eversion related files reside on the A300's internal HD? The data files reside on the network and I don't have any problems accessing them or playing them across the network through Eversion. The flash based jukebox when scrolling through the titles is what is slow.

The only thing I've seen about NMJ not requiring multiple jukeboxes for multiple hard drives is in the NMJ feature request thread.

Thanks for confirming what I've known all along, It's a science project. Half the people in that thread can't get it to work... Took me a nanosecond to figure that out.

You must be refering to the .MKV / PGS subtitle issue. The temporary manual fix would be external .SRT subtitles. Works like a charm.

I guess Willem53's question on yours was in a bit of irony. Short and inprecise questions often leads to same type of answers.

Thats not a fix. as when you use external subs and start watching a movie, then stop it and play it again the subs are out of sync.

hello guys try this ..it worked for me most of the times....if you happen to fast forward or rewind during the movie and the subs are out of sync u can pause the movie and keep pressing the pause button till you see the next line of subtitles come on screen then press the play button back to resume ....
for me most of the times it worked ..hope it helps.

now i put my A-300 away for good, a-100, c-200 and a-300. you expect to get better products with every new generation, but not for popcorn. bought a apple tv 2, best damn machine so far, all the time i was thinking the technology wasnt ready yet, but ATV2 for 99$ can do it, why not A-300?? and the support for these products are a joke.

and my PSU on my C-200 broke, 80$ with shipping to Denmark for a replacement, i might say i have been patience, but now with lack of support on bug issues im fed up with popcorn hour.

Because some bought the wrong product in the first place, ATV2 does not handle 1080p mkv nor HD audio So its a product I cannot use, But the pch handles them great, A lot of people dont understand there is no product that is made for everyone. If the ATV2 is good for you then good for you dont hate on the pch not being right for you, ATV2 for me is a piece of junk yet you dont see me on the ATV2 forums complaining about it. I cut my Loss with the ATV2 and moved on. If the pch wasnt right for you do the same cut your loss move on lesson learned another product worked better for you. There could be 10 people with 10 different players and each one thinks a different ones better and the others are crap.

Yes the A-300 is not the best player on the market. before the A-300 I had a Play-on HD (Acryan), but i think the popcorn has more bugs/ problems.

The A-300 reboots, has problems with the sound, when i watched a movie the screen goes black for a second. Network is very slow... and so on...
I'm very disappointed with the popcorn A-300.

What all do you do to make it lockup, Mine has not been rebooted since I flashed last firmware, I only play avi/mp4/mkv though and dont use NMJ

+1 harryvos, i plugged in my old Playon HD again, i'm still waiting for a proper firmware release for A-300

i'm very disappointed with my A-300, and actually i don't recommend it to anyone, even to my worst enemy!
