[NMJ v2] Advice about file location and renaming.

Hi guys im looking for some advice on the correct file structure i need, i have just upgraded from an a110 to a c300. On my a110 i have used yamj so all my files are setup for that currently. After reading the guides on here i see that the nmj on my c300 needs the files to be named differently which i can get using a renaming tool.

My question is currently i have movies over 3 shares called Movies 1 , 2 and 3. In each share each movie is in its own folder with the nfo file and the folders are all named in the same was as the movie file.

I.E The.Mask.1994.MULTi.1080p.BluRay.x264
The.Mask.1994.MULTi.1080p.BluRay.x264.mkv
The.Mask.1994.MULTi.1080p.BluRay.x264.nfo


My question is do all the movie and nfo files now need to be in the main share folder and not seperate folders? I know currently as they are all in there own folders each folder would need to be renamed as well as the nfo and movie file.

Are you hoping renaming files will fix a problem your having? I can't really help with nmj but it sounds like you might want to post your problem instead of your idea of how to fix it.

Im not having a problem!

Im asking for some advice before i start renaming files and moving them around.

I would wait for someone with nmj to confirm but for compatibility across a lot of programs and tools for the future possible programs you might run:

/moviename (year)/moviename (year) other data.mkv
/tvshow (year if thetvdb has year)/Season #/tvshow (year if thetvdbhasyear) S##E## other data.mkv

As for my experience on my C300, in principle you can keep all your folders as well also file names. However the nfo files are not used by NMJ on the C300.
The nfo files are used when u are in file mode.
You might still expect to have a few errors while scanning the movies in the NMJ.
