The same thing happened to my 5 year old Samsung TV last year. I called up Samsung and they came out and replaced it free of charge as they had used cheap capacitors in the original PSU.

I've only had my C-200 for just over a year so I'm hoping I haven't got one of these dodgy PSU's

This morning the replacement power supply that I had to buy less than 10 months ago failed as well. I'm done purchasing anything from these guys... Oh well, off to look at the alternatives.

My replacement PSU for C-200 died in 10mnts Sad. This time around I would like to try the repair option in the Wiki

Is there a recommended part list from Digikey or another provider? I plan to fix both the PSUs in one go.

Any help would be appreciated.

Bought the C200 in February 2010. So the PSU lasted 2years 6 months. IMHO that's pretty poor. Have ordered one from the Popcorn hour web store. Will see if they deliver. Standby

My C200 power supply died October 13 2010, it was from the very first batch of PCH shipped. PCH support kindly replaced it free of charge, August 3 2012 the power supply died again. Not a fan of having to take apart my desktop just to test if the PCH needed a PSU.

So long story short im on my 3rd PSU for the C200, the last PSU lasted almost 2 years. Meanwhile my A200 that i brought used in 7/2010 is still kicking. I find it odd that the C200 died twice while the A200 not even blinked once.

All my electronics are connected to APC's battery backups so there are no spikes or brown outs. Ordered the PSU on Friday, lets see how long it takes to get here. im just happy that im not completely dead in the water and still have the A200 to watch my movies.

PCH A-200 16GB USB -> HDMI -> Samsung LN46A650 | A200 -> Toslink -> Logitech Z-5500 (Harmony 700)
PCH C-200 8GB USB -> HDMI -> Sharp LC46D64U (Harmony 550)

Read your apc specs a little closer, the units that fully protect the way you think it is are very costly whole room models where the devices are always powered by the batteries. The smaller models your on the grid until the event happens for a brief period of time.

side note: still on my first power supply. I wasn't in the first batch, I got mine just before the a200 was announced. I actually have a spare power supply I picked up back when I saw the first posts and it appeared like having a spare was a good idea before it happened. Figures it turned out I haven't needed it.

Ordered the PSU , from the Web Shop Aug 6 , it shipped Aug 17 , Arrived Aug 20 in Europe. After placing the order I had no acknowledgement from Pop Corn hour team as to the order status . After 5 days I wrote an email which they did reply to, informing me of the shipping date. As you can see it took 11 days to ship.

Just had my second PSU fail. This one last 13 months.

I'm in the UK so a replacement is $57 ($30 shipping) - too much to be spending every 12-18 months.

Crazy customer service. Supply quite a high end product (in NMT terms) with inferior PSU. When the PSU needs replacing, which you know is inferior, charge your customers and provide a 30 day warranty ! (Yes that's how good they believe the PSU is - they are only prepared to give a 30 day warranty on a new component - tells its own story doesn't it?).

Love my C -200 but I'm going to have to look for an alternative as:
a) replacing such a part is unacceptable
b) I don't like to support companies who have such a disregard for their customers!

Real shame.

Syabas could learn a thing or two about customer service from companies like Sonos and Naim Audio - who go out of their way to resolve issues.

I can confirm it does take about 11 days to ship/receive, after i placed my order i went an entire week without any confirmation or tracking number.

I placed my order 8/3, I think it was shipped the 16th delivered the 17th, but i did not get a confirmation or tracking email until the 18th, this is a whole day after i received the power supply.Angle

Im not even going to mention that the power supply was just wrapped in 1 sheet of 3/16" bubble wrap and placed in a DHL plastic mailing bag. The power supply SATA cable was damaged where the ground wire became disconnected from the backside of the sata plug. At this point i just didnt even bother to contact PCH for a RMA because the PCH was already down for 2 weeks, i did not want to wait another 2 weeks for another PSU, and i since i do not use the sata connections i just warped the ground wire in electric tape and called it a day.

C200 is back up and running, and the summer relatives are enjoying it Big Grin.
