How Do I SET The Date (Not Time Zone), File Menu?
I've downloaded the C300 manual. No help that I can find. My C300 is confirmed connected. But the Date and Time are both wrong, even though I selected the GTM time zone.
How do I SET the date/time myself? I see nice interesting options for the File Browser in Section 11, but how do I GET to it? I don't see how to GET to the thing. My screen shows a row of horizontal icons (setup, local media, etc.) Even more confusing, even though I installed a Seagate 3 TB drive before powering up, under Local Media, I see "SATA_DISK_A1" and "SATA_DISK_A3" No idea what that means or how to see them. And what happened to SATA_DISK_A2? Sorry for a bunch of questions, but I getting frustrated. I had less problems with my C200. But this 300 seems faster, though. Thanks in advance for any replies. |

RE: How Do I SET The Date (Not Time Zone), File Menu?
there is some dns funkiness in the newer firmwares when it comes to talking to the default ntp.pool.org time server.. ping ntp.pool.org and whatever ip address it has for your area of the world, change the ntp server from ntp.pool.org to that ip address in the network settings. the time and date should be correct shortly after that and stay that way
in windows: (windows key)+r (bring up the run box) cmd ping ntp.pool.org adjust the setting to the ip address |

RE: How Do I SET The Date (Not Time Zone), File Menu?
Well, I entered an IP address that came up under ping as described above, but nothing changed. My PC300 thinks it's Monday 28 June 2010. Not even close on the time.
And more complications have arisen. It will display any single photo, and even though I've selected a Transition Type, and selected a Photo Interval, the thing never goes to the next photo in the folder. I get the Exclamation icon when I press the keys, that do function on the PCH200. I have to select "Stop" which brings me back to the folder file display, and select the next photo. I'm collecting a whole string of problems and complications here, that never existed in my PCH-200. I'm getting a headache. Why did I buy this thing, again? I'm glad I kept the PCH-200. |

RE: How Do I SET The Date (Not Time Zone), File Menu?
Umm.. that trick has worked on all my players with a time/date problem.. try a reboot (hold power for 5+ second).
Don't forget to consider that maybe the unit is defective or damaged in shipping. perhaps opening a support ticket to make sure is the best thing to do while trying to work through the issues yourself. There can be delays communicating with them from time zone differences so open the case up anyway. Best case you fix it and tell them it's not needed. Worse case there is a physical problem and they replace it. |

RE: How Do I SET The Date (Not Time Zone), File Menu?
I had a similar issue, where my time and date was always wrong, I went through the setup of my c-200 and in the network setup I changed from pool.ntp.org (which was default set) to uk.pool.ntp.org and now my time and date is set correct.
To find this I had to google pool.ntp.org and went through the wiki pages....... ........I hope this helps Regards mabies |
