Synology access from A300
Hello guys,

I'm trying to connect my new Synology DS411 nas to my A300. Nas is on DSM 4.0-2198 and A300 got the new firmware.
I've followed the wiki page here and no problem with the nas config.

But when i'm trying to acces the nas in Network Browser/NFS_Servers, there is only the A300 ip in the list.
If i go in WORKGROUP on the pch, i can see the nas but it ask me a login/password. I've try with the A300 account created during the config of the nas but i've a message "login failed".
If i try to add the share manually, i've a message "Share no longer exist".

I really don't understand what the problem... Do you have any idea ?

Thx in advance and sorry for my english !

Matrox

ask me a login/pass but don't work with my A300 nas user...

I'm out of idea, need help...

RE: Synology access from A300
Up ! I've try :

- enable the guest account
- rename my shared folder with no space/caps/special caracters : videos
- adding some ports in the synology firewall
- factory reset the A300
- create share manually with smb/nfs/nfs tcp

But no results...

I'm quite sure the problem is on the nas but i can't find where !

Any ideas ?

Matrox

RE: Synology access from A300
Have you rebooted the synology and the A300 since the changes? I had an issue like your and this helped.

RE: Synology access from A300
Have you tried setting up the share on the A300 without a user name & password? NFS shares don't have them. This is what I did with my Synology and it works fine.

Samsung PS50P96FD Plasma (ISF Calibrated), Sony BDP-S550, SkyHD, HDMI 4x2 Matrix, Synology 1511+ with DX510 25TB NAS, Onkyo 605 receiver, Kef Q Series speakers QED cables.
C200 & A210, A300 1.5TB Internal HDD in each.

RE: Synology access from A300
So, the NMJ database is created and i can access to all my movies on my A300.
But, the nmj navigation is VERY slow and when i play a movie, it's very laggy. When i enter a movie to see it's informations, it could take 5 minutes to show all the pictures...

Any suggestion ?

RE: Synology access from A300
That seems very strange as I have a Synology NAS, the CS407 so an older less powerful Synology NAS, and have my NMJ archive located on it. When I enter it it launches NMJ automatically and does not take 5 mins to start.

I am however using a wired manual connection as opposed to your Auto WiFi setup. WiFi is the worst possible setup for a media player, how are you finding it for streaming? IU did some testing and anything more than a SD xvid had problems streaming. Is there any chance you can use a wired ethernet connection it will benefit any media player connected to your LAN.
PS
Put a second DNS address in. Use something like 8.8.8.8 or 4.4.4.4 or openDNS addresses.

A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI
CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407

Hi chris !

I've changed my connection to manual since the screens. It seems that i've a very low speed beetween my box and my A300, like 2mo/sec instead of 54mo/sec. Going to search this way...

Ps : i can't use ethernet since my box is not in the same room than the A300
