When it’s time to upgrade our C-200s I hope we’ll have better products

After buying the C-200 I had sold my Egreat M34 player to a friend. He brought it back to me to see if I could do anything to solve the issue he had. Lately he had problems with its firmware because of the new mkv header compression.

Syabas doesn’t provide support anymore to other brands that had software agreement with before. But I guess Syabas doesn’t offer much support to the Popcorn Hour users either. My C-200 loses its mind from time to time and I have to turn it off/on. Such failure is surely because of current firmware.

While I was working on the Egreat M34 I noticed much better quality of its remote. C-200 remote doesn’t have sure touch buttons. I have to press them several times to get a contact.

It’s not a secret anymore that C-200 has a crummy power supply with crummy capacitors. Furthermore I hear Popcorn doesn’t have replacement power supplies in stock though they advertise on their web page.

In summary, when it’s time to upgrade our C-200s I hope we’ll have better products.

Couple things,

Its not the pch doesnt supply middleware anymore its that all the other companies stopped paying syabas to supply middleware so that would be on egreat

Its like any computer it needs a reboot here and there to get going again doubt that will ever change when you run an embedded os.

The remote issue might be you have to much interference for the stock RF remote on the c-200, I live next to an air force base and RF remotes are terrible where i live. the egreat runs an IR remote you can buy and IR kit for the c-200

The power supplies were back in stock last i checked.

as halfelite said.. it was egreat that discontinued their model of the pch.. not syabas that stopped working on little fixed like header compression. egreat could contact syabas for an updated firmware for that model still.

BTW, I have found a firmware update for Egreat M34 that works beautifully.
