USB slave cable doesn't work with USB 2.0 port

Hi guys,

I have a A-300 with a 2TB internal HDD. I can connect to it using the supplied USB 3.0 cable (blue) via the USB 3.0 port on my machine. But when I connect the same cable to the USB 2.0 port on the same or other machine, the HDD isn't detected.

Is there anything I am missing or is it designed to work this way?

I am using YAMJ+eversion and do not have the NMT apps installed on the HDD. It is NTFS formatted.

There is only one USB Slave port on the A300 and it is USB3. It is the only USB socket you can use for direct USB transfer to/from the player <> PC.

If you cannot the USB3 cable to the player and then connect that same blue cable to a USB2 port on a PC then it will work as USB3 is backwards compatible.

that's exactly what isn't working. The computer isn't recognizing the internal drive when i connect it to a USB 2.0 port.

It works fine with the USB 3.0 port on the same computer. Same result when i tried with another machine. Is this normal?

No.

When connecting via USB Slave your PC sees the players internal drive as an external remvoable HDD. It should be able to work if you use a cable on a PC's USB2 port.

I have exactly the same problem, I just get my new A300 with 2TB internal HDD, I do access the internal HDD from the network but when I connect via USB (Blue cable) to my PC´s USB, it show up for a couple of second then it goes off, I tried with the extended USB cable but the same thing , I do not have any USB 3. Port on my PC, and I cannot see the internal HDD, any suggestion?

I just talk to friend, who also has an A300 with 2TB internal HDD, and has exact same problem.
Is there anyone who does not have this problem? Or does it have anything to do with the 2TB HDD?

Any update on this. I also have the same problem. I already tried for several times but unsuccessful to access 3TB on my PC.
NMT Apps are installed on 16GB USB.

There is something in the latest C300 firmware release notes about if a thumb drive is connected a HDD will be not available. Wait for the next firmware for the A300 and see if the issue is still there.

If it is then give more detail to try and find why it happens to some and not all. Also 3Tb HDD's are a nightmare for most users and require extra compatibility with Pc's even.
