a300 plays music not from beginning

When i play flac the player always play without the first miliseconds, so everytime i miss a little bit of the music. Is this a bug?

I had already mentioned this problem, which occurs with mp3 files as well. Actually (at least in my case), it only happens for the first title of a series (e.g., an album, or a playlist). To me, it’s really annoying because I use my A300 mainly to listen to music. But this problem doesn’t seem to be an issue for syabas, because they never gave a response to our posts on this topic.

Yep. I think this is the case on most Popcorn hour devices (/other media streamers) and is regardless of the audio type - I certainly have the same issue on audio only and audio on video files with the C200.

It will likely be down to a subtlety in the buffering, switching sample rate or another low level issue to do with the audio engine, but it's the sort of issue that's pushed to the back burner due to other issues taking priority and quality being set at the level of lowest common denominator (i.e. most people will put up with this kind of thing so why spend time sorting it out).

Same problem for. Below is the problem during music playback with individual wav files in a same folder via HDMI.

I found sound loose for about 1 to 2 seconds for every beginning of each song if the sound files are in individual wav files. My AV amp front panel showed "PCM" during music playback but the audio channel indicator disappear a little while between each song (this is when loose sound happen). Seems like the AV amp and the A300 are doing hand shaking for every song but the establishment is lag behind the song start to play.

Hope that Popcorn hour can look at the issue seriously and get these fix.

My settup is as follows.

-A300 with latest firmware (Mar 2012)
-Yamaha RX-V667 via HDMI only

For the record, happens to me on every file played (music or video) with my Onkyo

Would be interesting to know if this is for all audio or just music for some people

Then might have to change title of thread and add to bug section if common problem

Same for me using wav files on A300. First 1 second is always missing.

When using hdmi, the box.and.amplifier makes a hdmi-handshake witch can cause a tiny delay. This is normal behavior when using hdmi and will not happen if using an anolog connection.

I currently use analog connections to my Audio Amplifier.

I have connected the analog audio cable (RCA) from A300 to my Denon Audio Amplifier. Almost every song doesn't start exactly (1 sec delay) from the beginning.

Same here.C-200 works fine,but A-300 misses first sec. audio in every media file,pretty annoying.

This does not happen in other streaming devices and is not a normal behavior. It occurs on my c200 regardless of file type or connection. Other devices play just fine for me. Really unacceptable performance.

Same issue from day 1 with my A-210. I only play FLACs and this happen on the 1st track played, subsequent ones do not suffer.

There has been a lot of flac improvments recently. Some of them in the current c200 firmware, I expect to see them start to come out for other models as their firmwares come out.
