But this is still a bug because at least 2 media players play this file (as well as other episodes) perfectly: Popcorn A110 and WD TV Live. So A300 must understand this header or whatever as well. In addition VirtualDub is the most used mixer, A300 must support it. What about 1 channel (mono)? Maybe A300 can only play stereo? |

RE: No sound on Xvid+mp3
that might be it there has been off and on things for mono, if it plays on both A110 and wdtv live it should play you should cut a sample and upload for others to test as a mediainfo report doesnt give the syabas devs much to go by.

RE: No sound on Xvid+mp3
Ok. Can you advise how to cut a sample (without spoiling any headers)?

RE: No sound on Xvid+mp3
that is the issue, a cut will rebuild it. but if you cut it and rebuild and it still has issues it would point to something else,

RE: No sound on Xvid+mp3
Collected more information.
1. Run the file through old VirtualDub 1.5.1 - still no sound 2. Downloaded another rip of the same show (Xvid+mp3 stereo) - sound is Ok 3. Mixed video from the 1st file with stereo sound from the 2nd - sound is Ok 4. Changed audio settings: PCM Passthrough -> Downmix - sound is Ok for all files! In short, MPEG1 MONO does not work when PCM is set to Passthrough. MPEG1 stereo works regardless of this setting. Please fix this bug. I believe PCM setting should not affect MPEG1 mono sound. This applies to HDMI only. Sound through SPDIF is Ok for all of the above. |
