USB devices (stick and HD) disconnect/connect every 5 minutes
I have not touched the devices with any utility whatsoever.
But since a week the internal WD 2TB drive and the 8GB USB stick carrying the NMT apps, both disconnect and then connect right after. Very annoying because it stops the NMT apps from running and stops FTP/Samba transfer to them. It also stops the webservice. However...watching a movie works fine. What can be the cause of this? |

RE: USB devices (stick and HD) disconnect/connect every 5 minutes
only things that springs to my mind is screensaver, bad SATA connector or a powersupply that starts to fail.. check in that order...

Screensaver could not be it because it happens when the screen is active. I can see the disconnect/connect messages in the right upper corner. If it would be a bad SATA connector, then it would only disconnect the hard disk right? Not the USB-stick. Wouldnt a bad powersupply give me more, other symptoms too? Too bad I dont have a spare. I will further check this out. |

RE: USB devices (stick and HD) disconnect/connect every 5 minutes
So I still have this problem.
It is very annoying because while watching a movie, every 3 to 5 minutes I see the message appear on my TV-screen that the USB-drive (stick with apps) is diconnected, followed by a message that it is connected again. Is there anyone that can offer me another possible solution? |

RE: USB devices (stick and HD) disconnect/connect every 5 minutes
Internal drive is a NTFS and the NMT Apps and system disk is on the USB that is going offline every 5 minutes, my guess then is that the stick is bad or the USB port has a bad connector.
SATA disk goes ofline because the system drive on the stick is offline I would replace the stick as first option.
