A-210 PCM output?
Is my A-210 capable of outputting the raw PCM audio from any source? I have a problem with certain blu-rays and the so called "DTS Bomb" problem which certain DTS chips in some recievers is the cause of,which results in a very high snap/pop sound in the speakers which can result in both damaged speakers as well as soiled pants.

Only way to eliminate the problem is by having my peripehrals output PCM,and let my onkyo 906 decode the stream,or upgrade my firmware which is not an option at the moment.

If A-210 is not capable of outputting PCM, can it be possible with the feature in future firmware?

RE: A-210 PCM output?
In settings, under Audio, you can choose the output mode for the different audio codecs.
Passthrough means you let your AVR do the decoding.
Downmix means you let the A210 do the decoding, and output sound as PCM.

I'm not sure if the downmix is just stereo, or if it will be multichannel (5.1, 6.1 etc.). For some formats it's supposed to be multichannel, like AAC.
It's also not possible to downmix the HD formats, for licensing reasons. However the A200 might choose the AC3 soundtrack instead if that's the case.
You just have to try and see what happens.

Hmm,i am not sure that is how it works m8. First, downmix means it changes the HD audio formats to the core meaning DTS HD will become regular DTS 5.1 and so on,and passthrough simply sends the original audio format to my amplifier, which means that if a disc has DTS-HD MA this is the signal that will be forwarded to my amp,and this is where the error happens,as it is NOT a PCM signal, but e "decoded" audio format be it DTS HD or TrueHD. My standalone panasonic blu-ray player has a setting where i can turn off the decoding of audio streams and send the raw digital signal to my amp for decoding there, this is the setting/feature i am looking for in PCH.

What i am looking for in the A-210 is the same as discussed here http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...pid=256531

RE: A-210 PCM output?
Not possible.

That requires an adjustment to the audio codec license and of course that costs $$

The only workaround AFAIK is to convert your HD Audio tracks to FLAC and since that's open source, it can send it out with the same audio fidelity and you set your receiver to Direct mode.

A200 connected to 32" Samsung UA32C5000
C200 connected to Denon 1610 AVR and 42" LG 42LH50YR
Encore ENHGS-500 5 port Gigabit switch.

Thank you for the answer. However, that is way too time consuming,so i am just gonna mark the movies with the tracks that result in the DTS bomb, and only play them with downmix.
