pch a300 on network
hi trying to get the pch a300 to share on my network I can see the a300 on my network but when I click on it it comes up with windows media player
and that’s it. I have the samba started and all the rest are on stopped,I’m trying to access my external 2tb Seagate drive and add more films the a300 is wired to a (d link 2040r router) and wireless from Router to laptop.i have tried the a300s ip address on windows explorer but nothing there, if I turn on the upnp in nmt applications it shows up in the network as that I’m thinking that the samba service is not working and it’s a faulty unit I tried on the av forums but could not solve there so may I ask for your help on this one thank you. Using vista 32bit |

RE: pch a300 on network
most likely a master browser issue.. try windows key+r (brings up run box). type \\ip.address.of.a300 and that will help confirm if it's vista not listening to the pch so we can recommend a fix.

RE: pch a300 on network
Have you have not setup a network on your PC?
Have you shared folders? Do NOT use Windows Media Sharing you use simple shared folders via Samba. Read the WIKI: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...work_Share We have a 300 and a Network Forum Section. This section is for questions that affect ALL models and not just netwokr or a series. Moving to Network as I think from your post you are going wrong there on your PC. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

RE: pch a300 on network
No problem we all have to start somewhere. I did a lot of my network learning from having media players.
After you have your network up and running have a look at this WIKI page as it will help with your knowledge of exactly what does what in your network: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i..._Static_IP A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

RE: pch a300 on network
Hi Chris57 sen’t the pcha300 back because it kept freezing now and then and now waiting for it’s return.
Not being to much up on the tech side of things Iv’e read a lot of stuff but can only understand about 75% of it, So when you say I (quote) (have you have not set up a network on your pc) , I’m not sure if I have , does the screen shot tell you this,it shows the pcha300 as a dlna and my t/v as dlna I have the laptop wireless to the 2640r d link router and all I done when I got the pch a300 was just plug it strait into the router ane then set up nmt apps on 4g stick and then activated the samba and thought that would be it. Somebody said that because the pcha300s dlna was on the screen shot that it was on the network is this true . If not does setting up the network involve going into the command promp and doing the ipconfig/all and then taking down the ip and sub net and default gateway and the dns servers, and putting the information into the tcp/ipv4 properties box . Your advise would be much appreciated as I said above I can only understand 75% of the stuff that I read about networking many thanks |
