Try playing without the BD Menu Language option set, what happens now? If it still plays as before then it's nothing to do with the Menu Language option. Remember the new BD Menu Language option was brought in to enable playback of some newer BD authored discs like LOTR Extended Boxset where the first option to choose is a language for the Menu, it's nothing to do with subtitles unless the disc will not let you select your subtitle language until you have set your Menu Language. If you can select the subtitles from the standard menu without any menu language required then this setting will do nothing.

A further example is A-Team German release. Here you cannot choose the German audio tracks until you access the German Menu by selecting German as your BD Menu Language. So if there's no BD Menu Language setting you cannot get the disc to play with German audio, this firmware brought that option in and now German users can play the disc with German audio via the German BD Menu.

This probably needs examining in detail with the help of others to test in a thread in the 200 Video Section.

I tested WAV and FLAC by recording SPDIF output to computer and they are not bitperfect. Tests where made from shared folder on network and from USB flashdrive with the same results: wav format has gap with variable length about 1000 samples before track split. Flac has lost about 3800 samples at end of previous track but no silent gap. Sample counts for gap and position varies at each playback attempt. C200 has last firmware no apps installed, was reset to defaults and cache cleared before test. Screens from sampled output are attached, upper waveform is original with marker at track split.

I don't now why you can't reproduce this. Possible problem is dependent on revision of chips or board, but I have it on both C200 and A200. That it is present at end of previous track let me think that it may be connected to next track prebuffering or some preparations to play next track what overload processor.
About MP3 you are right, it will never be perfectly gapless because of compresion methods used, but i don't care about it.

Impressive. All goes for software problems.
Regarding MP3… why it could not be “bit perfect” gapless playback (as Syabas understand it “a bit” differently) when the whole album is encoded the same way with constant bitrate?

There are actually 2 problems:
1) MP3 compression preserves only spectrum of input signal, not a waveform , at track start and end MP3 coded file will have some amount of fade in and fade out.If you will tray to mount two of them together, start sample of next track will not mach end sample of previous and you may get a click at transition.So only possible way to mount two MP3 tracks together is use of some cross-fading.
2)IMHO MP3 coding not preserves track length in exact samples so you should guess exact start and end points.

Sorry, maybe I misunderstood. The discs does not have preliminary language settings. Just the main menu opens and there are usual Audio, Subtitles, Extras, Chapters etc options.
If you meant BD Menu language settings on C200, it doesn`t support neither Estonian nor Finnish, but as I have to choose one, it`s English. You cannot leave it blanc. Anyway, finnish subs are working but estonian not. And probably french neither, as somebody already mentioned.

P.S. There was a disc once (cannot remember which one), first I set the menu language to Estonian, but the result was as discribed anyway.

Also remember that the Factory Reset is catching a lot out as many do not realise that they have many settings to change in the Settings Menu. It will default to PCH-C200 for host name and also Automatic rather than Manual for Network and thereby could change ip if you are using static/manual ip setup.

Having the NMT Apps ON has no bearing at all to accessing your NAS. You are not serving files from the NMT you are receiving them from the NAS for playback. Forget the Master Browser as that sounds fine if your PC is on most on your network.

Does it mean that if I am only accessing YAMJ from a computer on the network, and I am not sharing anything from the C200 at all, I don't need to have SAMBA and NFS Apps services running?

I'm just thinking that the less Apps service(s) I turn-on in the C200, the faster it can start-up and be ready for use. Also, it can lessen the load on the processor while running. Is this logic correct for the C200?

If so, then I will just turn-off the Apps services that I don't need to optimize the performance of my C200.

You probably don't need a drive or nmt installed at all. All my players are just the player alone, my media is all network stored and I run nothing extra on the pch itself. App market flash apps still work because they don't save to the drive, they save to a storage section of the NAND built in (where firmware is also saved).

On a C200 or C300, if you want to use bd live features of an original optical bluray disk, then you need a 2 gig thumbdrive minimum and still don't need nmt installed for that feature. This of course also requires a bluray drive and the original disc with bd live features. bd live will not work from a rip.

Where you do need nmt is if you want to do something like startup scripts, themes, changing the screen saver images, access drives connected to the pch from other computers, run other software including community made software that needs it. If your not doing any of that, then you might find the player more stable and better at media playback because it has 100% of it's resources for that job. not to mention it uses less electricity when there is no drives installed.

SIDE NOTE: there is an advantage on the old a100, a110 and b110 players to have a drive an nmt, but on 200 series or 300 series models that doesn't exist but worth mentioning in case someone with an older model reads this.

after succesfull upgarade of both firmware and nmt apps, my hdd name has suddenly changed into sata_disk_a1.

how do i change the name of my hdd back to sata_disk ?

i already tried reset factory settings, but that did not help.

in filezilla i see sata_disk in the root, BUT under network shares it shows up as share1 (explaining sata_disk_a1 i assume).

Usually it is because the Drive is no longer the Media Drive or the NMT Apps has become corrupted. Go into the Settings > NMT Applications and see if there is a message displayed.

To set a location to be your Media Drive aka /share go to NMT Setup Wizard and select Media Drive and then the location. the unit will reboot to set as selected.

i guess in the list that i can choose from the hdd appears as sata_disk_a1, so i can not choose the original name sata_disk.

so i expect it is a naming issue connected with the local.host function since in the file manager the hdd says sata_disk.

however, i am not a technical wonderkid here. Maybe Werner can shed some light on the issue ?

I own a c-200 and a synology ds212+. I have just upgraded to the newest firmware for the c-200 and after that the samba to connect to my synology nas box is not working anymore. I have not installed any custom software on the c-200 or changed ip's and so forth. When I try to access the share on my nas box I get the following message "unable to resolve host name"

Suggestions how to fix this would be greatly appreciated
Does anyone know if this is an issue that is currently being worked on for the next firmware release?

I've been searching for a solution (or at least an explanation) for days but no closer to either.

Can it be this firmware messes up the SMB version (I think previously this was v1,4 to Windows machines) which makes Server 2012 try to connect with the PCH on the SMB 3,0 protocol?
Any suggestions how to move forward? Anyone out there successfully using Server 2012 shares on a PCH C200?

I'm now out of ideas, especially since the other clients can be accessed without a problem.
So this is why I'm thinking its a SMB version issue... Any heroes out there that can help?

Here's what I've tested
Moved PCH & Server 2012 to a new workgroup
Assigned the Windows 2012 the role as Master Browser in my workgroup (switching off all PCs and routers)
Reset PCH to factory defaults and setup NMT apps (using default options, leaving existing media intact)
Enabled Guest account on Server 2012
Created NMT account on Server 2012
Deleted and recreated PCH mappings on IP and host name (using both NMT, Guest and Admin user accounts)
Recreated Server 2012 shares (remove share from Server and then sharing it again)
Manually changed PCH IP address
Cleared Server 2012 DNS Cache
Access Server 2012 from Windows clients, WHS 2011 and Ubuntu 12,04 without problems
