teach them to press the power button for 5 seconds, they can handle it for a couple weeks.. or downgrade until the next firmware is out.

RE: C-200 with latest firmware becomes non responsive
I've tried everything suggested as far as stopping all the apps and I still find this firmware worthless. I now have to get up and cold boot the PCH every 2-3 hours. Can anyone tell me where I can get a copy of the previous firmware and whether or not I can revert to it? I think I'm looking for 03-04-110530-21-POP-408-000....
Thanks in advance -Goldie |

RE: C-200 with latest firmware becomes non responsive
Thanks much for your reply. Am I correct in thinking that I need to tear into the box and find a jumper since I've already made the mistake of upgrading to this new firmware? Is there any easier way to force the box into "recovery mode"? My C200 is buried deeply in a nicely managed rack where I can get to the front and back but I'll have to unrack a half dozen other components to remove it entirely

RE: C-200 with latest firmware becomes non responsive
They released a RC version of the bug fix today. It's not a final but it might be much better for your current issues.. offline update only, click the link at the top of the forum to get it.

Without the torrent client disabled my unit on any type of movie file randomly stops responding to any command similar to your computer locking up except the movie is still playing leading me to have to reboot the unit as the only way to stop the movie or for that matter simply to be able to control the unit again. |

RE: C-200 with latest firmware becomes non responsive
Here's my recommendation because there was a lot of very different experiences during the long beta of the c200 firmware..
1: shutdown and pull your drive with nmt out. 2: follow the recovery instructions to go back to the stepstone firmware (link follow the instructions after the ---- (it's a long page scroll it) 3: after reboot, factory reset the unit 4: usb install the public RC version 5: after reboot factory reset again. 6: put your video and audio settings back in 7: if possible, put some videos that didn't work on another storage device and try to play them.. if not possible put your drive back in, disable all nmt applications and reboot to make sure they stopped running and then test some files. Basically all this does is reformats and retests the nand the firmware is stored on, clears out any lingerings settings that might have changed and there have been bug fixes where the new default is the fix and then makes sure your not maxing out the hardware with your nmt apps setup getting in the way of videos playing. |

RE: C-200 with latest firmware becomes non responsive
Hello,
my C-200 has exactly the same problem with the non responsive remote control with firmware version of May 2012. Where can I found the public RC version which should fix it? Is this problem fixed in the new firmware of January 2013? Reading the release notes did not clarified it for me. Nevertheless a lot of links do not work anymore since the change to CloudMedia. Thanks in advance because this behavior is very annoying. |
