Please be informed that Syabas SMP8634 Engineering firmware release:

01-15-071214-14-SYB-400-000 (for ES chip)
01-15-071214-14-SYB-402-000 (for REV chip)

is available for update.

Release notes:

1. Requires NMT apps 00-15-071213-14-SYB-400
2. Further fix for DVD/ISO playback in component PAL
3. Fix BT status in Setup not in-sync
4. Browser fix key Up/Down in MSP pages
5. NFS server start/stop
6. Enable DVD options in Setup
7. Network share
- Auto add default prefix (smb://) if it is not entered
- checking for duplicate entries
- Samba client username/password entry prompt support
8. HTML title added for Web Services and Samba client modules
- UPnP UI and Start page will have title shown on the VFD
(where applicable)
9. temporarily back to software JPEG decode, due to issues with
video scaler
10. early MKV subtitle support (known issues with extended
characters and others, fix in progress)

Great work Syabas.

One question; You mention smb client user/password settings.
What about smb server password options? You mention in several places that ftp and smb passwords are "unified". However, even though setting this password in setup pages, one can acces smb share on NMT without entering password.
I'm running latest firmware from popcorn and in release notes it is stated:
