Can't install FTP on my A-200
Hey
I need some help. I can't install any FTP on my Popcorn Hour A-200. When I go to setup-->Maintrenance-->NMT setup wizard-->Media Setup I install the wizard but nothing happens. I am on the latest firmware. What can I do, to get the FTP to work? I am using a Mac with OS Lion. My A-200 has i 2 TB harddisk in it what is formated to MAC OS so I can copy from my mac to my A-200 with a USB cabel. Sorry for my spelling.. |

RE: Can't install FTP on my A-200
If you have nmt installed on a usb drive and a hard drive to store your media file, then you use the media file to connect them together. If your trying to install nmt on a usb drive or new hard drive, use the other options.

RE: Can't install FTP on my A-200
If you formatted the disk on a MAC then the disk is probably in a MAC specific format called HFS+.
From what I have heard here on the forum, the A200 can read from it but not write to it. I think that is the problem. My advice is to let the A200 format and partition the hdd by starting the NMT install wizard, and choose to install the NMT apps. It will then be formatted to a format called Ext3, which is a Linux format. If you want to be able to use the USB cable to transfer files to/from the A200, you then you search for a way to make your MAC read Ext3 format. Since MAC OS is based on Unix, and Unix and Linux have a lot in common, I think there must be Ext3 drivers available. (It's even possible the MAC can handle Ext3 without anything extra. I don't have a mac, so I can't find out) |

I was thinking the same thing. But is the EXT3 format not like FAT32, and can't handel files over 5 gb? |

No, ext3 can handle a lot. I don't know how much, but a lot more than you will need.
