Yes and I don't see how it can be done differently - but I'm optimistic that I'm wrong.
Is llink able to make html display on the A300? or is it only upnp? Thanks.

RE: Kroozbox flash based - any takers?
Hello Gang,

New version of Kroozbox available at:

http://www.mediaplayersite.com/Kroozbox

Modification done to accomodate new Syabas flash based templates (for Popcorn hour A,C-300, Popbox ,etc) and LG Smart TV template.

The Syabas template (downloaded independantly) is connecting to the PVD (Personal Video Database - http://www.videodb.info), you will need this great video database software for it to work properly. There is a sample in the package (default config), so, no need for PVD if just to see it in action.
The template is based on eVersion so you can change the skin if you want. You will also need to download the YAMJ app from Popcorn market - the template is using the same loading mechanism as YAMJ (need for a network share).

The LG template requires download from the LG market - search for 'Kroozbox' on the LG TV. Note that, at this time, the app is not yet available. Still under review by LG staff - hopefully available soon. In the mean time, connection can still be made using LG browser.

Enjoy,
Nono

RE: Kroozbox flash based - any takers?
Dear Nono,

Hi! Very glad to see you back and active!

First of all thank you for your new version of Kroozbox! I don't have an A, C-300 popcorn but I have an LG TV and I tested your temblate on the LG browser. It is working fine!! Only 2 remarks that I hope that they will been working when LG releases your application: 1: Been able to select audio streams and subtitles in movies and 2: When I play music to see the album art and other info.

Now about the music jukebox that you know I am more interesting to. I have a PCH-200. I have a problem with the music library scanning. I could not see my ape files and some mp3 files! After some investigation I found that kroozbox is only scanning files that have ID3v.2.4 tags. If the music file has ID3v.1 tags are not been scanned and if they have APEv.2 tags (and ape files can have only APEv.2 tags), they are not been scanned too. Can you fix it?

You know the problem I have (and not only me!) with the many cue files we have and can't been scanned in the library. I have tested an android remote for popcorn hour, the "Na Remote 4 Popcorn Hour" . I can select from this remote, from my phone, the cue file and it can display on my phone the track title an the album art of the track that is being played. They say that they use the FTP server of the PCH native PCH API truncates the cue file if it contains none-XML symbols. I don't know if that helps you find another way of playing these cue files.

Again thank you for everything!

RE: Kroozbox flash based - any takers?
Hello Sstavross,

1.a. LG TV do *not* support embedded subtitles (subtitle in the video file). The subtitles for LG Kroozbox template needs to be in external files located beside the video file and have the same name of the original video file name. The extensions can be specified in the globalParam.properties file of the Kroozbox LG template. Note that you can have multiple subtitle files and provide different extension for each languages. If you look in the globalParam.properties file you will see the "subext" property value that I have put as example. There you have one for french and english (...., en.srt,fr.srt). In this case your subtitle files could have the name: "myVideo.en.srt" for english and "myVideo.fr.srt" for french. You switch between the languages by clcking the 'subtitle' button during playback.

1.b. LG TV do *not* allow enumeration of audio stream or switching audio stream without knowing the language in advance (not cool). Cannot be done by index ref. for instance. It's really a problem and I hope that LG will allow this in the future but for now no switching of the audio is available in Kroozbox.

2. I wont put too much effort in the audio template. But... are you saying that the ID3v.1 and APEv.2 tags were scanned properly in the old version and not in this one??? I did change my music library but I though that this was working... aaaarrrghh.. Please confirm.

The Kroozbox LG app that will be available from the LG market is only a HTTP/Browser launcher. There is no added feature except for the fact that you won't see the control bar at the bottom and that you will be able to assign kroozbox launcher directly in the main screen of the LG TV (no need to go in the browser).

Thanks,
Nono

After testing again I have to say that the new Kroozbox doesn't scan APEv.2 tags. In v.2_0a I can see my ape files, in v.2.3 I don't see them. About the ID3V.1 I can see them in the new version but if I puss the update button on the browser I don't get them. I have to remove the folder and then scan(update) the library and then add the folder. Then kroozbox finds it ok.

Ok, I'll test it and tell you the results.

Ok on this too. We can't do anything. Another thing to point out is that yesterday I tested a 4:3 movie and the lg browser stretched it to 16:9. Will we have the option to select the correct aspect ratio?

Ok. What about the album art when playing a mp3 in LG TV? Will we have the album art displayed?

Also in popcorn, when I select the mp3 to play I don't see the name of the song but the http stream name. Anyway to "mask" it?

Again thank you for your great software!

The aspect ratio selection is done by selecting the "Option" button during playback (need to use the LG template).

There is no music template for the LG TV. I suspect that you are using the Popcorn template in the LG browser. I would have to build a music template... ouchhh...

I'll make more test on the music side. Maybe come back to the previous library (not even sure anymore why I switched - maybe for iTune format).

No... you can already use it within the LG browser. Download the LG template from mediaplayer.com, install, configure and connect to Kroozbox server using LG browser (http://yourserver:9010).
Can also be tested with Safari or any webkit browser (no video playback dough).

I'll revisit the music template this week.

RE: Kroozbox flash based - any takers?
Hi

Wanted to try the PVD, but seem to be stuck.. Sad

Installed the program. Went to "Tools", "Scan Folder for New Movies",...
selected the folder where my movies are... then get an error message:

I think I must be missing a step, but can't seem to figure it out.. Sad

thanks for any help!

Somewhere in the options you have to define how is your folder structure, how deep are you actuall video files in your folders and what type of movies you have ( I mean .mkv or .avi or .divx)
Check at tools--> preferenses --> folder and then below in the file scanner -->file extensions.

RE: Kroozbox flash based - any takers?
Means that PVD cannot find the movie information on IMDB or cannot get the picture for it on whatever you use to get online info. I think in this case is the picture.
Best is to manualy set the URL in the movie URL field in PVD and click on the 8th button from toolbar (get info. from IMDB).
For picture (if didn't work automatically) I go to IMDB, right click on picture, save and from PVD edit movie, click on the 'load image from file" button in the picture area.

RE: Kroozbox flash based - any takers?
hmmm ... "all" 96 movies are doing the same thing, .. so I doubt if it has something to do with an image, etc ....

probably some procedure, or sequence I'm not doing..

I went to TOOLS, PREFERENCES, ... then looked under file extensions,... everythig looked proper,.. avi, mkv, etc .. were all there.

oh well, I'll keep trying ...

thanks

It does. Check for update. The PVD script/plugin (for imdb and/or for amazon) is not able to get the information from the net.
You can check the forum at http://www.videodb.info/forum_en/index.php?action=forum you'll have all the info there.
