oversight scan issues
I have recently upgraded from r2006 to r2362 on my pch a-110, I uninstalled the old version before installing the new. However, now when i scan oversight takes forever to pick anything up. The scan itself takes approx 1 hour, (i have around 200 movies) I left the pch running overnight and now its been up and running for 1 day 3 hours 12 mins and its only found 18 items, none of which are classed as movies, episodes or other and none show up on the oversight 'home' page. What am I doing wrong, or what is the reason for oversight scanning so slowly?
thanks in advance |

RE: oversight scan issues
Best check the logs in /Apps/oversight/logs.
There should be a logfile there that you can see what is happening. |

RE: oversight scan issues
Without knowing more from the logs I think it'll be hard to diagnosis... However there is definitely a problem with your setup.. Shouldn't take very long for a 200 library.
Is it with reinstalling again? Also do a scan on a location with only 3 or 4 movies in to do some testing? |

RE: oversight scan issues
Yep no problems here is what i did:
firstly go to oversight configurations > rescan > site checker If all of the options have red crosses next to them then you can try this: Come out of oversight onto the PCH main page and click on setup, then click on network. Check if your DNS address setup is automatic or manual. If its manual then you need to ensure that the primary DNS and secondary DNS are the same, and that they match your router settings. For my router I found out my DNS was xx.xxx.xxx.xx, so I used this as the primary DNS and secondary DNS, then saved my settings. You will need to access your router settings to find your primary DNS. I went back into oversight > configuration > rescan > site checker and all were ticked. |
