Avi not playing off internal HD but ok on USB
Hi all,
Strange problem with my A110. It has a internal 1TB hard drive with about 700GB of various avi and mkv files. Never had a problem playing them. I uploaded an avi today and the popcorn just errors with "could not play". If I put the same avi on a USB stick and plug that into the popcorn it plays it fine. Can anyone help please? Cheers. |

RE: Avi not playing off internal HD but ok on USB
is it just that one avi file? how did you send it to the drive ftp? samba? maybe it got corrupted in the send over
plus you are right at the edge of being out of space are you sure its not full? 1tb formated gives you 931GB on a 1tb drive then take into account I think default ext setting is 5% is reserved so usable space would be 884.45. take into account the parition used for apps i think is 2gb. You are pushing the limit of being out of space lol |

Weird. |

Just deleted some stuff, down to 500GB used now. Still no good with those avi files.
Everything is backed up, should I just wipe the disk and start again? |

did you happen to try your previously working files? I agree if the drive is about to go it'll start doing weird things

Finished format. Copied avi up to popcorn internal drive and it plays fine ![]() Cheers for the help guys.

RE: Avi not playing off internal HD but ok on USB
might be worth pulling the drive and long formating it on a computer (not quick).. that'll write across the drive. I tend to find drives still somewhat working but dying have a large section of the drive bad (like 1 platter).. takes more time to format but you'll know when it's done that it's safe

RE: Avi not playing off internal HD but ok on USB
The plot thickens!!!!
I managed to play the avi using the default popcorn home screen. Believing I had solved the issue I ran Tomy to put the alaska skin onto the popcorn and to create the index.html file. That went ok and the avi was identified as the correct TV show. I then went to the popcorn, selected TV shows, played the avi and am now getting the could not play error again!!! This is the first time I have used the alaska skin as I thought it was time for a change and I didnt much like the last skin I used. |
