MKV audio sync issue
OK, so I am having a little trouble lately, and I am trying to solve them. I have a A-300 and a pretty large collection of ripped DVD's to the ISO format. My A-300 does not seem to like ISO, they either play extremely choppy or the screen goes black through out the movie. Anyway, I have decided to convert the ISO's to MKV with "MakeMKV" (MKV's are easier to work with anyway). So after converting a few to test them, I have found some problems. First off, the video seems fine with the MKV, not choppy or blacking out. But, the audio seems to be out of sync! I used the sync feature on the PCH to see about how far off it was, and it's about 0.20. So now I pulled up my MediaInfo and found a spot that says:

Delay relative to video : 19ms

That appears to be the same amount it is off! So my best guess is the PCH is not picking up the delay from the MKV like it was from the ISO. Maybe someone here has some experience with this issue or could help me get this straightened out. Thanks!

RE: MKV audio sync issue
sounds like a makemkv setting, I'm not going to be much help here.

I did want to mention this thread if your isos are on a network share: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...?tid=58703

RE: MKV audio sync issue
19ms is only 0.019 seconds you would never be able to notice that sync problem something else is going on here. I have a feeling makemkv is not guessing the right framerate per your dvd and throwing everything off.

Well if I turn it up to .19 on the PCH the sync looks good to me. It was never off too far in the first place, but just bad enough for me to be bugged by it Wink I just got done trying a test. I put a 1000ms delay in MKV merge and re-muxed it. It is definitely being picked up by the PCH because it was WAY off that time.

I see what you are saying about it being .019 seconds. If I had to guess I would say it's off more like .19 seconds, which is what I must be adjusting it to on the PCH. As far as frame rate, it's 29.970 fps which sounds right for NTSC. I wonder how many retail DVD's use the delay setting, I just converted a different DVD and there is no delay setting at all. I suppose if it is just a few I could do it manually by re-muxing.

I read that post, and it seems WAY over my head...is there something in there that makes ISO's run better?

RE: MKV audio sync issue
I have same issue with my recent C-300.

Many mkv files that I used to play well previously in my C-200, play with exactly the same out of sync audio in my C-300. If I correct during play with settings with a .20 positive which mean 20 ms they play well.

It only happens with mkv. Playing other files such DVDs or Blurays images, I have to reset the playing settings audio delay to 0.0 again to listen correctly in sync.

This amount .20 is clearly noticeable when looking at speaking lips or watching concert at particular visuals like playing drums.
