A-300 started to ask for password everytime I want to access my desktop from it
Hi guys! My A300 whenever I wish to access Desktop A now started prompting me with LOGIN and PASSWORD. It is wierd because turning on another PC and trying to access Desktop A gives no errors, I can see all the shared folders.
It started all of a sudden. I still have no HDD on A300 but that was no problem I could access my Desktop and browse the folders. Its simple, inside WORKGROUP, everytime I try to access my pc it prompts user a password on a300, weird! Started all of a sudden. I cant access it simply. Just a folder I had added previously on the network selection thingy HELP EDIT: Solved it. Dunno if by uninstalling LIVE (networkedmediatank(DOT)com/wiki/index.php/Networking_with_Windows7) if by turning of (in windows7) media sharing. Strange bug Syabas |

I really doubt the problem was the Popcorn hour, since it was a client problem obviously (not server side)

Another example of lets blame Syabas. It's just laziness not to investigate issues properly and just blame the player.

Read the instructions that came with your unit. There's should be a white piece of paper with the information you seek. If not check the Wiki, on the top of every page.

RE: A-300 started to ask for password everytime I want to access my desktop from it
Totally off-topic:
chris57 atleast I made and "EDIT" in the 1st post so, sorry "Sir" if the problem is almost obvious from Syabas given I could access my desktop from another desktop but NOT from popcorn hour (and more people opened a thread like mine). And YES it is a bug from Syabas OFC, given more people reported the same it's a big coincidence being otherwise, hum? Thing IS, I solved it but it's not Microsoft sided nor user sided, as I stated there are more threads describing the problem similar to mine. Search for it before being arrogant with costumers. Or when you mean its "client side" when I have to uninstall Windows Live Messenger in order for things to work you believe in what you say? (and Jasch aswell) As you dont know sh*t regarding how deep I went in investigating the problem, rather then harrassing costumers with that prepotent attitude try an be a bit more proactive! Something you mustn't know about, do you Sir? Super-Moderator ? LAWL, wrong guy. *sigh* people man...people Cheers mate |

RE: A-300 started to ask for password everytime I want to access my desktop from it
as to the windows part of your problem.
Windows does allow other windows PC to join a workgroup as the credentials are exchanges without the user seeing it happen. Your PCH is, for some reason only your windows knows, not part of that workgroup and therefor is asked for credentials each time. In most setups like yours there is no problem, a solution might be to rename the PCH workgroup name to PCHGROUP and have you PC's join both workgroups. Oh yeah, as to the other part of your problem... here is a tip... crappy communication style will in general not get you the right answers. PCH-A100/A210/C200/A400 500GB EXT3 HDD<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Onkyo TX-NR1010<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Panasonic TX-P46S10 13 NTFS USB drives on 3 hubs attached to the A300, 3 Seagate blackarmour NAS 3TB The inability to setup and configure the NMT should not be disguised as a defect of the box |
