Warrranty on Accessories

Can anyone advise why there are only 30days warranty on accessories, especially if the product is brand new (psu) then surely it should come with a minimum 12 month warranty for UK users

Only Syabas can answer this. From what I read here, resellers in some countries offer 2 years warranty on accessories also(ex.: Netherland, for PSU).

you need to contact support anyway to get it replaced, get the ticket opened and it might be a non-issue

Remember your country consumer laws have no relevance unless you buy from a reseller in your own country. Purchase direct and you have the terms as offered.

So if you want a warranty that extends beyond those offered then you'll have to purchase from a reseller. Some prefer to do this for improved warranty and local contact but it usually costs.

I'm currently weighing up whether to get the c300 which will cost 400+ by time add drives, the hd prime product with built in bluray or build my own of which the hd prime is cheaper, then build own, then c300 - but with c300 its cost or replacement parts and warranty given

A PSU is not an accessory when you first buy the product. IT comes included obviously and is covered by 12 months upon purchase. If you require a replacement then if you want a further 2 years on a PSU buy it from a reseller.

The Dune HD Prime 3.0 has the 200 series chip I think, 8642. The C300 has a more powerful chip using the 8647. Remember to compare like with like and that this forum is not a general media player forum it is the NMT forum so we don't get into discussions on other players in general. If you want the 8642 chip then get a C200 from the likes of ibood for less than £200.
