Limitations of ISO library with NMJ? USB Volume size? (BD AND DVD)
Hello.
I am considering purchasing a C-300. I have an established library of more than 500 DVD ISOs on my network and plan to start adding BD ISOs. Are there any limitations I should be aware of when using ISOs with NMJ? Specifically, will the jukebox still tie in title, description and poster info? It appears as though NMJ DOES NOT use meta tags for this ( which ISOs don't support) but rather adds library files much as my current WDTV Live Hub does today. Is this correct? Also, does anyone know how large of a storage volume the c-300 will recognize via USB? ( example ... Can I plug a 20TB USB raid array directly into it?) Thanks for the help. I'm leaning towards the C-300 over the Dune HD Duo because of the UI but my only concern is having solid user friendly access to disc ISOs with full menu navigation. Your thoughts/experience along these lines would be greatly appreciated. The wdtv has been decent but it doesn't support bd ISOs very well and has quality control issues. Thanks. |

It just work perfectly like a dvd\bd reader as menu navigation and yes it uses an external DB.
You will have just to have some patience when scanning your isos for first time because some will not be rightly recognized and you will have to fix the DB by hand. |

RE: Limitations of ISO library with NMJ? USB Volume size? (BD AND DVD)
Personally I would go with unpacking the BD ISO and use a BDMV folder setup for full BD backups.
It's very different for a player to parse a many GB ISO file over say a 4-8Gb DVD ISO file. It takes cpu power. Playing full BDMV backups also takes a lot of cpu power and by taking off the requirement to parse from ISO to BDMV prior to playback does not help. I do have a mixture of BD ISO and BDMV so BD ISO do owrk. for best compatibility use AnyDVD-HD and remove encryption. The C series does have a Bluraqy license and java etc so will give you retail menus to select from but combine encryption and it sometimes suffers. There's presnetly a DTS-HD issue requiring a Sigma fix. This should be done soon and a new firmware that should also assist with subtitle timing issues should be out in the next couple of weeks Syabas say. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

NMJ on C-200 has performance issues with my library that is much smaller, I am using Eversion because I have to, but it's much more investment and compliacted compared to NMJ . I (and I expect others) would love to hear your experience with NMJ 2 / C-300 and your ISO library if you go this route |
