A300 CEC vs LG Simplink

Hi all,

Can somebody tell if A300 CEC works with LG Simplink? Since I purchased this a300, the CEC never worked with my TV. When opening the simplink menu, it doesn't show the PCH. Only my home theater and HD player.

I'm using the latest firmware for A300.

Are you sure you are talking abour HDMI CEC or are you referring to some LG upnp server software?

Not the upnp. I simply wany my tv remote to be able to control my a300.

I've lost count of whether HDMI CEC is disabled or enabled. I think its been disabled which would also tie in with why you do not see it perhaps.

If you search the forum for HDMI CEC you should be able to find the discussions.

That's the problem. Some thread says it was work while others tells otherwise. I really need this feature because I'm tired of having 3 remotes at the same time.

CEC is junk. as you have found there is really no standard for CEC while some of the big companies spend time making there CEC work for every TV/AVR out there someone like syabas doesnt have the resources to always do that. If you really want a one remote solution I would go with a true all in one remote like harmony or something. I tried the CEC way myself but found it no reliable always,.

You mentioned about true all in one remote. Can you educate me more? I'll try searching it online, but I appreciate if it will come from you or other users who uses it.

He already said the harmony remotes. There are other brands but harmony is the main remote in this area and comes in a wide variety of models at different prices and options.
