PCH A-110 ..everything Red / Pink

My PCH has been working great for several years without any major problems. However, last night I turned it on and after a few minutes no joy. After various tests, including ...

1) Changing HDMi cables
2) Changing TV mode to 0
3) Trying it on other TVs in the house
4) Through and without my receiver
5) Going through the TV settings and trying all alternatives

...the problem still remains. The loading screen instead of being black with the white popcorn icon is a bright red, and when it does eventually load the screen is a bright pink. You can see the films etc but they won't play. The TV's are fine as my PS3, Xbox etc play fine so it must be the PCH. Any ideas what's wrong?

***Update****

Just back from holidays and took everything apart last night to try and get to the bottom of the problem. After a lot of troubleshooting it is the HDMI port that is faulty. I tried at least 4 different HDMI cables, and 2 different TV's and they all point to a faulty HDMI port on the A-110. I can plug in and watch component ok and it works fine. the only problem I have with that, is that my component in the living room TV is already in use and I wouldn't be able to use it. No matter what HDMI cable I use the picture displays with a bright red background and when the main menus screen comes up it is a faded pink background. Is there any way to get the HDMI port fixed?

maybe it is just a broken solder joint on the pcb?

do you have ice spray ( used for sport injuries) and/or a hairdryer?

if you hit it with heat or cold and it comes good again that should indicate a bad solder joint, and maybe someone can solder it for you!

this is just a hint to give you a direction ( as i have seen hdmi ports crack )
