Unbelievably slow download speed
I have a wireless connection to the router on my A-300 and it downloads things so slow! Can anyone offer reasons for why? Also before you ask all of my other equipment connected to the router work fine and have quick speeds. Thanks in advance for any help!

RE: Unbelievably slow download speed
At what rate are you downloading? Remember that wireless routers generally have a transfer rate of 3MB per second maximum. Try an all wired setup and check if problem persists.
Longshot: I remember having slow downloadspeeds when using usenet app on the A-300. Don't forget to set the available channels in NZBget. Regards. |

RE: Unbelievably slow download speed
Have you gone into the interface of your wireless adapter to see what type of connection stats you have with the pch? is it connected fast? does it have a good signal. wireless is very picky in this area... Also keep in mind copies from 2 wireless devices are going to be slower than a wireless to wired..
Also, telnet into your pch and type the following command and then reboot the pch: - download putty from internet - telnet to the ip address of your pch - type "pflash set tcp_recv_mem 131070" without quotes - reboot the pch by holding the power button about 5 seconds and you'll see the power light flash, when it stops, press power to have it boot back up. you only need to type this command once. So it's a 1 time sets it up. This adjusts the tcp settings a little and most users are finding it a better setting offer much faster network speeds, especially with internet sites like youtube. there is a speed check app in app market if you want to compare speed before and after that command. |

RE: Unbelievably slow download speed
I also just got my A300 and have speeds of about ~73kb/sec on a 50mbit cable connection. So... pretty terrible.
But I kind of think it is the routers fault, for being a piece of junk, so I might try with another router before officially blaming the A300. |

RE: Unbelievably slow download speed
This is only for those with firmware Bugs not for general help. Please post in the others sections for that in future.
Just tested torrent and usenet on my A300, both maxed my internet. Only got a 800kb/s connection but it shows you its possible to get > 73kb/s. I would limit your player at first just in case your download speeds are causing cpu issues. Try 800kb/s before increasing steadily. i'm on a wired gigabit connection. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |
