Running YAMJ on QNAP TS-412 nas
i have installed YAMJ onto my nas using the qpkg from the qnap forum. i have successfully updated it to 2.6.1 and am running the Eversion skin.

My problem is updating my library. it is taking on average 5hrs to complete the scan when adding only a couple of shows.
It seems the part that takes the longest is Indexing masters, Indexing Set and Writing Category XML.
Is there anyway to speed up the process or is it that my nas is under powered (cpu Marvell 6281 1.2GHz, ram 256MB DDRII RAM)?

Unfortunately not. If you don't need the indexes, you can turn them off. For example, if you never browse by boxset name or TV show name, then you can turn off the set index.

Same for the categories, turn them off if you don't need them and they won't be written

Just to expand a little more..

Yes that's a little underpowered, but you can start to turn off things you don't need. For instance, if you don't use watched, you can get yamj to stop looking for watched files. Remove indexes you can live without to speed up that section. You can't really make use of threading with that minimal amount of memory.

I have a decent machine that runs it as needed and I'm heavily pruned to get my large library to scan quickly for a new file being added.

Thanks for the reply's. i will give that a go. If i need to scan quickly or a lot of new files i can use my desktop to scan it.
