Maybe a strange question but how is it possible that with some people the firmware is working great and with other people the firmware works shitty?

because there is a network bug with wireless setups so it makes it seem like the firmware is terrible. If you dont use wireless it should be fine. Also a lot of people dont use factory resets after a firmware update which most of the time clears up a lot of issues.

Also seems to be an iso issue and iso while not rare is not common.

It is not a wireless problem only, as stated in many comments in this thread.
No I tried to follow the instructions from Filminator ... fresh FW update, setup wizard done, start NMT installation and now frozen with the message "Please wait ... Rebooting ..." Angry

And everyone knows pull the plug and reboot it. the 300 series has never rebooted itself after firmware or NMT apps. Why are you complaining about it trying to reboot just reboot and everything will be normal.

"Normal" = no working network again after reboot.

So your problem is a network problem like I originally said when you decided to go rant about something that was not a problem and make this go off topic from the real problem.

You are not alone, they really screwed up something in the network in this firmware, my guess would be in the routing tables. This is the first device I ever came across that has problems problems with specific routers and dhcp, not sure how somebody can manage to break something so basic that's around for decades.

Thank you, Filminator. This strange setting works fine for me too.

I'm hearing this update changed the NMJ database version to 1.9.1. Is there any information available on what changed?

Interesting that all us German guys seem to have the same network problems j2w, pantagruel and myself. There shouldn't be anything location specific in the dhcp but maybe the bug is in the C300 localization, maybe they translated too much and now some commands fail because they got Germanized but obviously not in all places because we got it working by going through the wizard, updating the apps and changing from automatic to manual.

+1 on the networking problems with the new f/w on C-300, Linksys E4200 and Synology 1511+ NAS. I am experiencing various issues that did not exist before. Blu-ray playback from a full BD folder has become impossible, the player will just browse the directory and would not present the playback options. If I add the BD folder as a separate NFS network share it works for a while and then stops reading from that folder giving "Err1.....". It would lose visibility to my NFS shares intermittently and a reset would be required to fix this. Ironically, the BD audio switching issues are less prominent now but I keep losing connection to the BD sharesHuh. What a mess, I am not even sure my describing the issues makes much sense and so does the player networking with this firmware...

Going back to Feb firmware.

Did you try switching the DHCP setting to manual, this worked for me. Be sure to reboot after this, the NMT will act very slow after that.
Be sure to reserve the ipnr in your E4200 first, so the ipnr is not used by other devices.

Also, after reboot, before trying to play a BD file (in full BD mode) first play any other mkv or so.

Please make sure you report the problems in the Reporting area for C300 bugs http://www.networkedmediatank.com/forumd...hp?fid=117
Check to see if it was reported before, If it was, add to the first Bug report, If not, separate the problems that are single bugs and submit them as a new Bug.

some networking devices tend to be regional so it could be an issue if you all have matching wireless networking hardware or maybe models that have the same chipset in it. Still a pch bug.

I maintain fixed IPs for nearly all of my devices, so had this covered from the start. I noticed that with the new f/w the auto network configuration produced incorrect network settings (at least with my router - wrong DNSs and Subnet mask). By way of trial and error, I managed to achieve what you advise and in the last couple of hours I've had stable network connection. I changed all network settings to manual and even though this would freeze the C-300, it works fine after a reboot. I will continue testing the player tomorrow to see if the settings will hold.
