Best way to scan TV Series (now is a disaster)
Hi,
I just upgraded from an A200 to an A300. beside issues with the 1Gb network not working (low transfer rate, movies from samba share stuttering - 10/100 works well) the biggest problem I have is that NMJ does not scan my TV series correctly. Movies are OK, but all the TV shows episodes end up showing up as movies. The files are on an internal data disk on which I have a directory called "TV Shows". Inside there is a folder for each series: TV Shows/True Blood/Season 05/01 - Turn! Turn! Turn!.mp4 and TV Shows/24/Season 1/24.s01e03.avi I tried to put an .nfo file inside the series folder: TV Shows/True Blood/True Blood.nfo in which I put the IMDB and the THETVDB show id ( I tried the two ID in two separate attempts, with only one ID each time) but it did not work. What is the best way to let NMJ identifying TV shows correctly ? Thanks a bunch for any help/recommendation/suggestion! -stoca |

Despite a lot of fiddling around with episode names, nfo files, etc etc, I could not get NMJ to scan my tv series correctly. After playing around a bit, I was able to import all my shows directly in nmjtoolbox. Now the problem I have is that, when I use the jukebox, all the varipus seasons are listed at the same level of hierarchy (for example "24 Season 1, 24 season 2, True Blood season 3, etc etc). I'm not sure if it is possible to just show the Tv serie name and then the associated seasons after you click on the Serie name.... Any help will be appreciated....while I scan all the forum posts.... stoca |

What did you do to import the tv series correctly? I'm still having trouble with mine :/
As far as the seasons go; i think that is the way it should be in NMJ. Not sure if you can change that (easily). |

It is not possible. Each season must be a separate entry currently. The facility is there for series - NMJToolbox enforces a series to be there but Syabas do not use it in the NMJ currently. Samsung PS50P96FD Plasma (ISF Calibrated), Sony BDP-S550, SkyHD, HDMI 4x2 Matrix, Synology 1511+ with DX510 25TB NAS, Onkyo 605 receiver, Kef Q Series speakers QED cables. C200 & A210, A300 1.5TB Internal HDD in each. |

I'm still havist trouble with mine :/ Hi ivar, depending on how your TV shows files are named, you may have to to some prep work to help NMJToolbox to recognize the seri and episode numbers and title. What i did, i renamed my episode files like this: TV Shows/True Blood/Season 5/True blood.s05e02.mp4 You could also use the NMJT file name convention: the above example would be: TV Shows/True Blood/Season 5/True blood.s05e02.Authority Always Win.mp4 You can rename your files as per 1st example simply using a very handy utility called "better file rename" (google it). if you want to add the episode tittle in the file then theTVrenamer is your friend (search the forum) After your files are correctly named to import the series in NMJToolbox : 1. go to the tv Shows tab 2. in the toolbar there is a little icon with a tv picture and a "+' sign. (if you hover with the mouse pointer, a tool tip will inform you that it is a "Add New TV Entry". Click on it and a file browser will open 3. select either one or all your show episodes 4. the tool will import and scrape the episodes and create a database entry directly into the NMT for that serie. 5. if it cannot find the eerie or there are multiple series choices it will ask you to select the right one. If you really do not want to change the file name, you can import the files as per steps 1, 2, 3, then after importing (the tool will complain that cannot find the serie name, just ignore it) click on the name of the show that the tool came up with (most likely it will use the name of the 1st episode) and rename it to the right tv show name, then right click on the new show name and select "update from TheTVDB". It seems implicated but it is really simple and fast. A few additional tips: 1. make sure you mount the A300 "share" directory as a network drive on your PC 2. set the path in settings accordingly for TV Shows and Movies. Kudos of course to the developer of NMJToolbox developer(s). Hope it helps. --stoca (07-15-2012 08:00 AM)ivar Wrote: What did you do to import the tv series correctly?
