What it says in the release notes does not exclude it from still displaying text over the image rather than just black bars. It states that the subs are not related in size to the image but to total screen, not same thing, but as it does what we wanted it's all good isn't it? As they say in Spain - no problemo

RE: [A-300] Firmware 05-02-120711-23-POP-421 (05-02-111220-23-POP-421) (17.07.2012)
I have the A-300 with firmware 05-01-120118-23-POP-421-000 and NMT apps 05-01-111007-23-POP-421. I use the WN-160 WiFi dongle to connect to an AVM Fritz!box 7270 without any problems.
Today the A-300 announced a firmware upgrade which it download through the WiFi connection. It installed, rebooted and then had no internet connection anymore. I reset to factory settings. Then started the quick setup wizard to select my preferred settings (system-language Dutch, subtitles Dutch, internet WLAN, video 1080p 50Hz). I can select WLAN and I see my router but after filling in my password it takes ages before it comes back with an alert: check your password or your internet connection. I checked the log of the router and it doesn't show any attempt of connecting. I then downloaded the complete update on USB drive and updated the NMT apps manually. So now I am on firmware 05-02-120711-23-POP-421-000 and NMT apps 05-02-111220-23-POP-421. Again I reset to factory settings. And still I cannot connect to my router, and still the router doesn't show any attempts at connecting. I tried the DHCP auto/manual tricks but it doesn't work. Coming from a broken HDX-1000 I love the A-300 with it's extra functionality through the internet. Is there any chance this WLAN problem will be fixed soonish? Thanks. |

After upgrading, when I press play button in a remote, on a playlist (m3u) file, the A300 crashes, and reboot.
And after, it turn too slow in any operation... Any suggestion? |

People with the fritz box on german forum had same problem with C300 they found a work around im not sure i understand it with the translation but they say to "Had the same problem. You have to enter the WLAN automatically. I mean you have to press the button bleue, after he has looked networks." |

Hi,
thanks for the update. I was looking at the network "auto" rwin setting for optimal transfers on a Gigabit network. I'm using D-link switches through all my house. With the previous firmware version I applied the workaround to manually change the rwin size and with the auto setting I was transferring files at around 160Mb/s (~20MB/s) from a Windows 7 PC. The speedtest NMT app ,though, was returning no more than 4Mb/s instead of the ~15Mb/s internet connection speed. After updating the firmware (resetting to factory, settings, power off, etc etc) with the auto setting, the transfer speed to the PC is about the same (~19MB/s), but speedtest now correctly shows a ~15Mb/s connection to internet. Now, I guess the question is if there is a way to get the A300 to transfer at Gbit close speed (~100MB/s or ~800Mb/s). I usually get around 90MB/s between PC/Macs on the same network. I could by a TRENDnet 8-Port green Gigabit switch, but before doing that it will be good to see if other people have the same config working. --stoca |

the CPU of a-300 doesn't have enough power to handle such gigabit speed, so content with this speed (around 20-25 MB/s)

I'm liking the removal of one screen to get to local content.
I have a SSD with the NMT Apps on. Labelled as SATA_DISC. Before the update I used to have to go through Local > SATA_DISC > Folders. After the firmware update it now goes Local > Folders cutting out the screen where SATA_DISC selection was required. I suppose if you have more than one attached local storage then you will get the old screen to choose from of course. Werner, previously reported problem to you via PM is still present (since original firmware of November 2011). I was hoping it would be finxed under 'other bugs' but no luck.
Deleting a .ts file from the network I get this error message: "One or more files failed to delete. Please make sure the file is not read only" I press OK, the page reloads, the file is gone. (even tough the file was deleted, the error is thrown). At least it doesn't crashed and you need to press "source" like happened in March firmware. Hope you guys get it fixed soon

Unfortunately, I still have the same problem with Dolby TrueHD making the A-300 almost unusable. Random drops will cause the audio to start buzzing loudly. The only way to stop the buzzing once it starts is to stop and resume the movie (pause does not work); switch to the 5.1 core; or change the audio mode on the receiver to a lower setting and back.
This error is easily repeatable by skipping chapters or FF. Containers do not seem to make a difference and it happens local or over the network. DTS-MA and LPCM do not have this problem. The same movies work fine on my older media player and on my PC. I hope someone has a recommendation or better yet, had the problem and found the solution. My receiver is an Onkyo 809. |
