You have a couple options you leave it on the NMJ loading screen for hours as it should be scanning the drive itself during this time, Or you connect the drive to a PC and download gparted live, its a linux distro that runs off usb or cdrom and boot into it and click check disc takes about an hour or less on a pc to scan a 2tb drive. And if it finds any errors it will fix and flag the drive as healthy. and the pch will boot again. |

But when I SSH from my laptop to the pch I can browse folders and files on the HD, so the HD seems to be working fine. I wouldn't mind formatting the HD, do you think that could help? If so, do you have tips on how to format? |

If you want to start from scratch. you can always pull the drive pop it into a pc and let the pc format it in windows then pop it back in the pch and set it up again. |

you might be able to cheat. And power the unit on without the drive then slide the drive in.

I can confirm Internal subs in my MKV's are now always sync. Still though, after a dialog ends the text stays a bit long for my taste, but no problems at all. Thanks. Also perfect when stopping a movie it returns prompt to the NMJ. I can now enjoy all my movies.
As I don't have an internal drive I ran the online firware update with no errors, very smooth. After that I ran the NMT update WITHOUT touching my movie collection. Also went fine with no errors. Tests to perform still.... I gues I will use losless WMA in some rare cases. My WMA rips did not return any sound with older firmware, so will test soon. -goAMinD PCH-A300 | W2K8R2 | Blu-Ray collection |

I'm pretty sure that during the firmware update in /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/ a new link (?) has appeared: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 41 Jul 18 19:29 SATA_DISK_bedea549-3175-4170-ba42-4c035824b1ad4 -> /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/SATA_DISK// I think it is new because the other ones in /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/ (being HARD_DISK, NETWORK_SHARE and SATA_DISK) I recognize from ftp login on my pch. When I use ftp to log in on my pch I can see the new link, that is how I found out. I removed the link, rebooted and then it was recreated, so that did not fix it. Can this link cause the problem of the pch-gui not booting correctly? |

The only way to stop the buzzing once it starts is to stop and resume the movie (pause does not work); switch to the 5.1 core; or change the audio mode on the receiver to a lower setting and back. Bumpity. Anyone have any thoughts? If I could get TrueHD working, I would be a very happy camper. If not, I will have to cut my losses and find something else. 'Tis a real bummer. I really like the a-300. |
